Hello everybody, welcome into the tailgate. I am Ryan Warmly, joined by Andrew Erickson and Derek Brown. We are reacting to week two of the NFL season, and Debro is rude. That's pretty much all I have to say about the jersey that he's wearing. No, no, fair's fair. Uh he had to pull it out after the Saints pulled out a miracle win with the Ravens getting hosed on a call on fourth down at the end of the game, which I don't I'm not really saying with my full chest because the Saints also got hosed on other plays in that sequence. So it's uh poor officiating all around in that goal line sequence, really. We'll get into that game more in a second. Debra, how are you doing here on week two?
Doing really well, worm. Um, I decided to dust off a old jersey and for everybody at home, this is not liquid death. This is uh a uh lovely can full of Ravens tears. I'm just gonna enjoy on the sh on the show. So uh it's it's a good Monday, boys. How are y'all
doing? Uh would have been doing better if the Ravens won, but still doing well. Uh tough week two, Erickson. Lots of injuries, which we're gonna get to in a moment. Uh lots of low scoring games. I think I saw it was in the Sunday afternoon slate, week one with something like fifty four points per game total, and uh and week two that Sunday afternoon slate was like thirty six per game. Like it was just a cratered compared to the offense we saw in week one. Terrible betting. Like
Yeah, a lot of unders came through, which typically is what happens when you have one week where there's a lot of overs that hit, things always regress to the mean and Mother Nature played a part as well. A lot of games there was rain, wind, etc. We had that crazy delay with the Buccaneers and Browns game that really kinda like took all the wind out of any comeback that Tampa Bay could have had on that final drive where I mean Again, revisit his history, you know, when you're looking back at could they have made that comeback if the fans were in the stadium at the time and it was just so again, a lot of different factors at play here. And but the fact that the Browns and Buccaneers had to go down to the wire, I mean inexcusable by Tampa Bay, who is now oh and eleven against the spread in their last eleven games, which is the ongoing record since the Super Bowl era.
of when we tracked teams going against the spread. So basically I know we talked about this on the look ahead show worm, but you could have your own treasure island if you just bet against the Buccaneers, against the spread, over the last eleven games.
I believe uh last night on the show you said that you could uh find some pirates booty and it made me want Tampa to trade for K shon booty, so then we could have a real pirates booty uh uh in Tampa. But the phrasing on this show has been elite so far. I just gotta I just I just have to point that out. But anyway. But yeah, we're actually going to talk a lot about the NFC South on today's show. We have some uh kind of big takeaways from the week coming up, and uh a lot of us are hitting on at least one team in the NFC South. So um, we're gonna be talking more about all those games. Before we get into that, though, we do need to jump into the news and notes.
