Hello, everybody. Welcome into the Fantasy Pros Football Podcast. I'm Ryan Warmly, joined today by Pat Fitzmaurice and Jake Seeley from The Athletic. And we are talking starts and sits. And are we starting or sitting waiver ads we picked up? We're doing a touchdown calls contest. It is a jam-packed thursday episode here as we head into week two we are in the rhythm of the nfl season boys and uh i'm really excited like week one's super fun it also feels kind of surreal like oh it's actually here and we're kind of now it's like oh we're in it we're at the week to week grind we're pumping out rankings and starts it's and all that fun stuff it's how you're feeling here heading into week two which is kicking off with a very exciting game tonight
Oh, I can't wait for Bill's Lions. What a way to start Thursday. And remember when the Thursday matchups used to be so drab and it seemed like the offenses were always sleeping through most of them. We got a game with a Vegas total of 54 and a half tonight. What a way
to start week two. I made plans for tonight like a month and a half ago. And I remember specifically thinking, oh, it's a Thursday night. Who cares? There's not going to be a fun matchup then. And then I get to this week and I'm like, oh, I do have something on Thursday. Oh, no, it's during Bill's Lions. And it's devastating. So I'll be following along as best I can on my phone. Jake, how are you feeling here getting into week two?
Uh, you can hear like Nico Collins and then come through week 100% and trying to like work through it. I should have been in game shape for this season with my throat. Uh, I mean, excited for tonight, even with the offensive line issues, this is going to be all depending on when you're watching it. Maybe the game last night, it's going to be, it'll be this point of 14 to 10 or something like that. Just because that's what this is. Football's back. We're already frustrated that people are already panicking and benching Jalen Waddle.

It ends up being one of the questions I feel like we get the most throughout the course of the week is, hey i just picked up this hot waiver ad am i actually starting him right away or is this somebody that you're just sort of picking up two stash on your bench so i want to hit on some of those names every time we do this episode i've got three names for you here fits i'll start with you kalon black is the first name here he seemed to be there wasn't like the number like clear 101 consensus waiver pickup this week but he was the general consensus i saw his name most often at the top
of the waiver articles this week. If you picked up black, are you starting him in a very, very tasty matchup against the dolphins?
And so I've got him RB 38, which probably puts them on the, you know, distant fringes of flex territory. And I think the reason he was such a popular pickup this week, mainly because he's now the most indispensable handcuff in fantasy football is the backup to the oft injured Christian McCaffrey.
