What should farmers read in their loan documents before a rate reset?

Dan English 1:59
Uh, Minneapolis. So uh good uh getting ready for the Minnesota State Fair here coming up uh this week.
Tanner Winterhof 2:07
That's right. It's exciting to uh get to see those state events that feature agriculture for the general public, um, be able to put those things into consideration for those that don't get to spend every day in the cab or on the farm or feeding those animals. So uh good for you to do that. Remind our listeners a little bit about your background and how you got into this role.
Dan English 2:28
Uh so I grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Um, you know, didn't didn't grow up uh with a family that came from agriculture. But of course, like almost everybody in the state, you know, my great grandparents had uh lived there and uh a couple generations before that, uh homesteaded. And so um certainly had some connection to agriculture and Went away to college, worked on Capitol Hill for a few years, um, and um worked uh in consulting. And, you know, being one of the few kids from South Dakota and a lot of those places, I found that you know, I knew the difference between corn and beans. And so that kind of set me up as uh a leg up for a lot of people when it came to agriculture products. Um and so uh did that for a few years, and I started FBN uh almost nine years.
Dan English 3:15
years ago now um and started the finance business about eight years ago. I've been working to To grow it ever since.
Tanner Winterhof 3:22
What were you doing at FBN for that one year before you started the finance side?
Dan English 3:27
Uh I actually started out in a corporate uh finance role. Um, and so helped with our Series D fundraise uh that we did back then, uh getting all of our budgeting and planning in place, uh a couple uh acquisitions that we did that laid the fine foundation for uh what became our crop marketing business um and some of the stuff that we have uh on the data side. Uh and so it's a very fun, very busy. Yeah.
Tanner Winterhof 3:53
Yeah, no kidding. That would have been uh almost like drinking from a fire hose as uh the way that cliche goes.
