Jules & Andy: The FA Cup's dwindling magic, how the tournament can find it again, and some potential January transfers
07 Jan 2020
Has the FA Cup lost some of its sparkle? What are the big teams’ attitudes towards the tournament? These are a few of the questions we’re trying to answer on today’s brand new episode of Jules & Andy! After a mixed set of results from the third round this weekend, we debate how significant a place the Cup still holds in football’s television-dominated environment. We suggest some ways to help recapture the magic of past FA Cups, including moving the semi-finals away from Wembley and incentivising teams to take it more seriously, while Jules recounts some of her favourite memories of watching it as a fan. Elsewhere, we discuss some of the potential movers and shakers in this January’s transfer window, as Arsenal need some new personnel in defence and Manchester United could do with some creativity.Got something you want us to discuss?
