More bloodshed in Iran. I'm Lisa Lacerra, Fox News. The number of dead in protests against the regime, more than 2,500, and thousands more have been detained, according to an international human rights agency. Demonstrations began weeks ago over the country's faltering economy.
Thousands took to the streets of major cities in Iran, including the capital of Tehran. Further south in the city of Isfahan, Fox News was able to make contact with With a man who is using Starlink, he described battles between protesters and security forces who are using live ammunition. On the call, he said the government has really repressed them using weapons of war against the demonstrators.
Fox's Trey Angst. After returning from Detroit this afternoon, President Trump said he was looking to get more information on the number of dead and is weighing options on any U.S. action. The State Department says multiple Americans who were detained in Venezuela have been released.
The names and exact number of those released have not been made public, but a source tells the Associated Press four Americans were released as a group today and one was released yesterday. Former President Bill Clinton failed to show before the House Oversight Committee attorneys today to answer questions about his appearance in the Epstein file.
Former President Bill Clinton sent a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer accusing him of dismissing subpoenas to those he considers friends, writing that two law firms have done an analysis finding the subpoenas for the former president are invalid. Comer responded outside of what would have been a deposition hearing room. So no one's accusing Bill Clinton of any wrongdoing.
We just have questions, and that's why the Democrats voted along with Republicans to subpoena Bill Clinton. He noted the files revealed Clinton had flown on Epstein's plane, for example, at least 27 times.
