Chapter 1: What impact is the winter storm having on New York City?
No sleet and frigid cold. I'm Kathleen Maloney, Fox News. New York is among dozens of states feeling the pain from a massive winter storm. LaGuardia Airport now closed until further notice because of the snow, while thousands of flight delays and cancellations have hit countrywide. In New York City, Mayor Mondami says five people have died in the extreme weather.
Fox Weather's Robert Ray is in Times Square.
Times Square as it is loaded with snow. Residents and tourists alike making their way through. Cars moving very slowly. Taxis are still out. Well over seven inches has already been fallen in Central Park. And the snow, unfortunately, is turning into a bit of a sleety mess as well, which is going to cause a lot of slick scenarios. The city of New York and the five boroughs with
Nearly 3,000 snow excavating pieces of equipment. Just remarkable.
Chapter 2: How are authorities responding to the extreme weather conditions?
Workers were working overtime. 19,000 lane miles of roadways to try and clear LaGuardia Airport shut down at this point. As New York City has not seen this kind of snow in many years.
And now to Boston, where Fox's Brian Yannis says the precipitation is relentless. One to three inches of snow falling per hour.
They expect whiteout conditions. It'll be impossible to drive and also so much snow that it'll be impossible to really keep the road unpaved, which is why they are pleading with people to please stay home. Here is Massachusetts Governor Mara Healey urging people to do just that. Please stay off the roads. And if you have to, for any reason, be on the roads.
Please give space to our snowplow operators, okay?
The wind's starting to pick up more and more. We're looking at 30 to 40 mile an hour gusts. And nearly a million customers have no power.

An uproar after another deadly shooting in Minneapolis. 37-year-old American citizen and ICU nurse Alex Preddy shot by Border Patrol agents Saturday during an anti-ice protest.
Chapter 4: What are the details surrounding the shooting incident in Minneapolis?
Officials at the Department of Homeland Security and Border Patrol were quick to call him a terrorist and accused him of approaching agents with a handgun. But bystanders' videos don't show that. Instead, he was recording agents with his cell phone.
Speaking with reporters on Sunday, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz asks all Americans to acknowledge the truth and hold the federal government accountable.
If we cannot all agree. That's a smearing of an American citizen and besmirching everything they stood for and asking us not to believe what we saw.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara says police believe Alex Preddy was a lawful gun owner with a permit to carry. ICE Executive Assistant Director of Enforcement Removal Operations Marcus Charles criticizing violence against federal authorities and citing another incident.
Here in Minneapolis, a crowd of violent agitators tackled an ICE special agent When one of our special response teams went to assist, the protester literally bit off part of that agent's finger.
Protesters are demanding the federal immigration agents leave Minneapolis after the two fatal shootings this month. An attack by an ISIS-linked militant group in Congo killed at least 25 people early today. A human rights group in the African nation says at least 15 men were burned alive in a house and seven more were shot by the group calling itself the Alliance Democratic Force.
There was no immediate statement from that group.
