An appeals court says Elon Musk can skip a deposition on Doge.
A federal judge last month denied a request to block depositions by the billionaire and two former Doge colleagues. That means Elon Musk would have had to have gone through a deposition connected to a lawsuit tied to the shutdown of the U.S. agency for international development. Plaintiffs wanted more information about Musk and his tenure leading the Department of Government Efficiency. The first judge said the proposed testimony was justified and not barred by protections for high-ranking officials. But now an appeals court has said no. Musk will not have to sit for a deposition after all. Jill Nadeau, Fox News.
Millions of dollars in marijuana tax revenue is headed back to local communities in Michigan. But this year's payout is slightly smaller than last. The state took in just under $94 million this year, down from $99.5 billion last year. That's separate from a 25% wholesale tax on marijuana that took effect in January 1st. There's an encouraging reading on the job market.
Job creation by private employers bounced back last month. Payroll processing company ADP says private sector employment increased by 63,000 in February. Pay is up four and a half percent for the year. ADP's chief economist, Dr. Neela Richardson, says she's seeing an increase in hiring and pay gains remain solid, especially for people staying in their jobs. The premium pay for switching jobs hit a record low in February. Construction, education and health services employers were hiring last month and small businesses added jobs. The ADP report is not considered a preview of the monthly employment report, which will be released on Friday.
