Chapter 1: What updates are there on the conflict involving Iran and oil shipping?
Updates on Epic Fury and oil shipping. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. We may get those any minute now from President Trump, who's expected to take questions from reporters at a Trump-Kennedy Center board meeting. And he urges other countries to help stop Iran from backing the flow of oil. Fox's Jared Halpern is at the White House.
The president's NATO allies, as well as China, Japan, and South Korea, will hopefully send ships to the Surtaform Moose to help ensure the free passage of oil tankers through the narrow waterway.
Because these other countries are benefiting greatly from the United States military taking out the threat of Iran.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitz says President Trump believes U.S. allies will do more, though so far it's unclear how soon that could happen.
A German spokesman said this morning this is not NATO's war. And Britain's Prime Minister Keir Starmer says they won't be drawn into a wider war. I'm doing everything I can to work to a resolution of this, but I'm not going to stand here and pretend to you that that is straightforward, that is easy. But oil prices are down this morning, leading to a stock market surge. The Dow is up 478 points.
A nasty winter storm making it a whiteout. In some areas, blizzard warnings, Iowa, Illinois to Wisconsin, up to Michigan where Fox Weather's Robert Ray is. We already have almost two feet here in Marquette.
Now they may get double that amount before it's over with almost hurricane force wind gusts. We're going to be in this scenario until at least early tomorrow morning. And we've already been in it for 24 plus hours. So Lake Superior with 20 to 30 foot waves crashing in on the icy shores already. Roadways that are compromised with blizzard conditions.
There are more than 100,000 power outages in Michigan. The bad weather in that region and stormy, windy conditions on the East Coast. have canceled another 3,200 flights today, 4,500 delayed. And on top of that, there may be more long security lines at some airports. A TSA agent's not getting paid, not showing up. Homeland security funding still blocked by Congress. America's listening to Fox.
