Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Blocking the Strait. I'm Kathleen Maloney, Fox News. President Trump making a major announcement after Pete's talks with Iran failed to produce a deal. On social media, he says the U.S. Navy would immediately begin a blockade to stop ships from entering or leaving the Strait of Hormuz.
Chapter 2: What major announcement did President Trump make regarding the Strait of Hormuz?
Fox's Trey Yingst has more.
This is a significant announcement by President Trump, and once again, an indication that the United States holds the cards here. The president is the decision maker, even as it relates to the Strait of Hormuz. And we heard just yesterday, as these two Navy destroyers passed through the Strait, threats from the Iranians claiming that they would fire on these vessels.
And the president is very clear here in his post on True Social, this will not be tolerated. Threats or strikes against US forces or vessels in the region will have consequences. And so once again, the president is showing who is in charge, not just at the negotiating table, but on the battlefield.
After talks failed in Pakistan, Vice President J.D. Vance says the fighting can only end if Iran gives up efforts to build a nuclear weapon. Democrats are calling on Congressman Eric Swalwell to drop out of the California governor's race.
Multiple people have come forward with claims of misconduct against Swalwell, including one in New York City that involves a former staffer who claims Swalwell raped her in 2024 when she was intoxicated. That same woman also claims a separate assault in 2019 and other misconduct during the time she worked for him. Well, D.A.
Alvin Bragg is urging survivors and anyone with knowledge of these allegations to contact their special victims division. Swalwell has denied all the allegations, calling them, quote, flat false. But now his campaign is in a free fall. He has, in about 24 hours or so, lost all 21 of his endorsements he had from his Democratic colleagues.
And his fundraising and endorsement pages have all been taken down.
Fox's Chanley Painter, America's listening to Fox News. Police are investigating a mass shooting at a Chick-fil-A in Union, New Jersey, where several people were shot after masked suspects stormed inside an open fire Saturday night. Authorities say victims were rushed to nearby hospitals. The extent of their injuries not fully released. Investigators are still searching for the suspects.
No arrests have been made as a motive remains unclear. The restaurant is closed as police continue to process the scene. One of President Trump's closest European allies is seeking re-election, but he's not favored to win. Fox's Jonathan Savage.
