Investigating an attack in the state of Michigan. I'm Ted Lindner. Fox News. That shooting on Sunday morning in a Mormon church leaving at least five people dead, including the gunman. Eight people known to be injured. Fox's Brian Yennis with more.
A man rammed his vehicle into the front doors of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The 40-year-old man then got out of his vehicle and began shooting.

The shooter was shot and killed by two local police officers who engaged in a heroic firefight. Police say the shooter deliberately set the church on fire, a blaze that engulfed the entire church. Tragically, police believe multiple victims died in that fire. A witness tells Fox the attack happened as the congregation had just finished taking the sacrament. The shooter turned his gun on those who were running away from the church and those running towards what they believed to be a car accident, but was instead a horrific attack.
The shooter identified as Thomas Jacob Sanford, an Iraq war veteran. The FBI investigating the incident as a targeted attack. And the man charged with the murder of conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk slated for a second court appearance this week.

Tomorrow, the judge is expected to schedule future court dates and possibly a preliminary hearing. Because Robinson says he can't afford his own lawyer, Utah taxpayers will foot the bill for both of these legal teams, which in a case like this could run well over a million dollars.
