The protests continue. I'm Ted Lindner, Fox News. Protests continue for a second day in Minneapolis following the death of a driver at the hands of an ICE agent. Fox's Garrett Tenney has more.
The Minnesota National Guard is on standby in case protests get out of hand. We did see more than a dozen people arrested at a protest outside a federal building where demonstrators were throwing water bottles at Border Patrol.
Chapter 2: How is the FBI involved in the investigation of the shooting incident?
State officials are crying foul, claiming they have been pushed out of the investigation into this shooting that is now being led solely by the FBI. Minnesota's Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan posted, I don't trust the Trump administration to conduct this investigation. We need a full, independent and transparent investigation led by state and local law enforcement.
The Trump administration's defended the shooting as an act of self-defense and claimed the deceased driver was trying to run over federal agents. Two people were shot Thursday afternoon in an incident involving federal agents in Portland, Oregon.

Chapter 3: What updates are there on the situation in Portland, Oregon?
We do not know the facts of this case.
Portland Police Chief Bob Day also said police were not involved in the shooting. The Department of Homeland Security said one of the two people shot was a member of the Venezuelan gang known as Trende Aragua. Five people were arrested Thursday night in protests.
Russia's defense ministry is saying Friday the military has used the new Oreshnik intermediate range ballistic missile in a strike on Ukraine. The ministry said the attack was a retaliation to what it claims was a Ukrainian drone strike on Russian President Putin's residence last month.
At least four people have been killed and Russia struck critical infrastructure in the western city of Lviv with that hypersonic missile. Stock futures at this hour ahead of the opening bell on Friday on Wall Street. Dow futures are down 14. S&P 500 futures are down 3. NASDAQ futures are down 11. America's listening to Fox News.

Economists polled by the Wall Street Journal are expecting that employers added around 73,000 jobs last month, which is an increase from November's 64,000 gain. The Labor Department's most recent figures have indicated that around 22,000 jobs were added a month in the three months through November.
A slowdown from an average pace of more than 100,000 jobs per month between January and March of 2025. The unemployment rate is expected to edge lower to 4.5% from 4.6%. Joblessness rose gradually through most of last year, but still the unemployment rate remains relatively modest by historical standards. Hillary Barsky, Fox News.
And police shot and killed a 60-year-old man armed with a knife in a hospital in Brooklyn, New York City Thursday night. NYPD Commanding Officer Brooklyn South Charles Minch described the scene when officers arrived.
