What escalation in U.S.-Iran strikes and territorial targets is being reported?
Iran is in a lot of trouble. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. That's what Secretary of State Marco Rubio just told reporters in the Philippines after meeting with China's foreign minister.
They're facing hyperinflation, runaway inflation, high food costs. These are all pre-existing. They've all gotten worse. They've suffered a tremendous amount of damage to their military infrastructure.
Then, as Fox's Trey Yinks reports, it comes after an 11th night of American attacks.
another night of heavy US strikes hammered Iran, this time the target list expanding. Reports indicate deeper strikes into Iranian territory as the United States works to secure the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM released a statement saying over the past three months, Iran has attacked more than 30 commercial vessels.
Oil prices are up again, more than 4%. WTI back to $88 a barrel, $20 higher than when July started. And the price of the gas pump has gone up 17 cents since last Wednesday. War Secretary Pete Hegseth went to the Senate asking for a bigger budget. $1.5 trillion is what the president seeks and what we need to defend the country. But the hearing got testy at times.
Do you want radical Islamists to have a nuclear bomb that can stare down the world?
I don't want to hear your speech because I have limited time.
Megseth Spard with Senator Gene Sheehan and other Democrats critical of the Iran conflict. A congressman, maybe Arizona's next governor. I was overwhelmed when I started seeing those vote totals come in.
How are recent U.S. strikes affecting oil prices and gas pump costs?
It's awesome. Andy Biggs got more than 70% of the vote, beating fellow congressman David Schweikert. So Biggs will try to unseat Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs in November.
Another Trump-backed candidate, Mark Lamb, won the GOP primary to fill the seat of Congressman Biggs. Lamb, a sheriff, is on a trajectory to win in November as the state's 5th congressional district heavily leans Republican. And in the 1st congressional district, former NFL kicker Jay Feeley won the Republican nomination to replace Swiker.
Why did the Pentagon ask Congress for a $1.5 trillion defense budget and what was contentious at the hearing?
That's Fox's Madeline Rivera on the Democratic side. Congressman Greg Stanton beat back a challenge from a progressive socialist. America's listening to Fox News.

While the U.S. keeps battling Iran and the Middle East, there's still concern about Cuba and our adversaries in our own region. The Senate held a hearing on it.
Utah Republican Senator John Curtis praised the administration's approach on the issue. For too long, American policy has treated our own neighborhood as an afterthought. while our adversaries have treated it as an opportunity. But he added that the key test of the policy. Is whether it can blunt and roll back the presence of our global adversaries, China, Russia and Iran within our backyard. The State Department's Michael Kozak testified that a big key to safety in the hemisphere hinges on Cuba. We have 90 miles from our shores, a failed state that is friendly territory for some of our adversaries. President Trump has made it clear we will not tolerate that threat any longer. Kevin Ureske, Fox News.
The Venezuelan leader the U.S. captured in January, Nicolas Maduro, returns to court today in New York City where he faces numerous charges including drug trafficking. Also, a New York City arraignment for the man accused in an attack outside a federal building.
Andrew Arabaca now charged with arson after federal authorities say he went to 26 Federal Plaza Monday with a cart with an anti-ice sign and dragged it up to an employee entrance before igniting a large firework. They say he then fired several airsoft rifle pellets at the building and ignited gasoline he'd spread on the sidewalk before he was tackled by a security guard. Two government employees and one person who was going to immigration court were injured, along with a bystander who was grazed by fireworks.
