From the Mississippi Valley into the southeast, we've also seen the power outage risk grow up the I-95 corridor, D.C. to New York City. The likelihood that we could lose power as we see snow move in by Sunday and perhaps a little sleet mixing in towards the back half of this.
As the storm turns toward the northeast, forecasters say we could see blockbuster amounts of snow, with Washington, D.C., New York City, and New England expected to get at least a foot of snow. Several states already declaring states of emergency. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey telling people to prepare now before the snow hits.

A New York federal judge has set a trial date for the man accused in the murder of a UnitedHealthcare CEO.
U.S. District Judge Margaret Garnett set jury selection in the trial of Luigi Mangione for September 8th. She said the rest of the trial schedule, including opening statements and testimony, is contingent on whether she allows prosecutors to seek the death penalty. Garnett said if the death penalty is still in play, the next phase of the trial won't start until January 2027.
If it isn't, opening statements will start on October 13th.
