Charges filed against a former FBI director. I'm Lisa Lucera. James Comey indicted on charges of obstruction of justice and making false statements over testimony he gave to Congress in the Trump-Russia investigation.
We're told that it relates to a September 30th, 2020 testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee. And that date is very specific because this coming Tuesday is... Five years to the day after that testimony and a statute of limitations for lying to Congress or lying to a federal official is exactly five years.
Chapter 3: What are the implications of James Comey's indictment?
So they got this in right under the deadline.
Fox's David Spunt in a post on True Social. President Trump wrote that Comey is being held accountable for his crimes. The president just announcing another sweeping round of tariffs, including 50 percent on kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities. 30% on upholstered furniture and 25% on heavy trucks starting October 1st.
And the president says he'll put 100% import tax on pharmaceutical drugs unless their manufacturers are building plants in the U.S. Hundreds of generals summoned to Virginia for a meeting with Secretary of War Pete Hexeth next week.
admirals and their senior enlisted aides have been ordered from their post around the world to Washington, D.C., to gather in an auditorium at Marine Base Quantico in Virginia on Tuesday. The officers have not been told what the meeting is about.
The invitation has sent shockwaves through an already fearful officer corps who have been on the receiving end of angry outbursts by Secretary Hegseth, who routinely threatens to submit them to polygraphs. Some express concerns that bringing all the military brass to one location in D.C.
is an unnecessary security risk and question why the meeting cannot be held on a secure video teleconference call.
