The local authorities notified the FBI of it, and we are working with them in any manner they choose.
The outlets all said the notes contained details of the crime scene not known to the public and a demand for millions in Bitcoin.

The New York Post is reporting that the FBI spent about two hours at the home of Savannah Guthrie's sister Annie's house and that the Today Show host was also present. The sheriff says right now they are counting on doorbell and security cameras inside the home of Nancy Guthrie. Footage that did not upload to the cloud but may be on a server.
