21 Jan 2026
Chapter 1: What breakthrough did President Trump announce regarding Greenland?
A breakthrough on Greenland. I'm Lisa Lucera, Fox News.
It's a long-term deal. It's the ultimate long-term deal.
President Trump, after meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Switzerland on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, the president is saying as a result of that, he's pulled his plan for tariffs on several European nations that were set to go into effect next month.
Chapter 2: Why did President Trump pull his plan for tariffs on European nations?
But Danish officials are holding firm, telling Fox Business's Edward Lawrence, Greenland is not for sale.
The Danish foreign minister is not saying there's not a deal. He's just saying that now he can start talks, whereas the two sides were sort of dug into their corners with this threat of tariffs. Now he's saying that there actually can be talks related to this deal going forward. Now we'll have to see exactly how it goes forward.
President Trump has repeatedly said the U.S. ownership of Greenland was necessary to prevent threats from Russia and China. Stocks recovered half of yesterday's plunge after President Trump called off the Greenland-related tariffs. The Dow gained 5.88. The Nasdaq added 270. The S&P plus 78. ICE officials are moving toward entering private homes for enforcement even without a warrant from a judge.
That's according to an internal memo obtained by the Associated Press.
The guidance would reportedly allow ICE to forcibly enter a home based on an administrative warrant from the agency, not a warrant from a court to arrest someone with a final removal order. This is even as residents are urged not to allow federal agents in without being shown an order for entry.
The directive is said to have been signed by Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons and dated May 12th of last year. DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin told the AP anyone being served an administrative warrant has already had full due process. Legal challenges are expected.
