Hey, it's Debbie. Today I'm sharing a Playback Friday episode. It's a powerful conversation from Deep in the Tilt Parenting Podcast archives. Unless you're a longtime listener, you likely haven't heard this one yet. And even if you have, I bet you'll get something completely different from it this time around.

There's many, many, many statistics that suggest that upwards of seventy five percent of of kids are really really interested in in changing their bodies to fit into the un really unrealistic appearance ideals and that, you know, within that percentage it varies um tremendously around the lengths that one child might go. But even as young as four, you know, kids are starting to make these kind of black and white determinations about what's um valuable in terms of the size and shape of bodies.

Welcome to Tilt Parenting, a podcast featuring interviews and conversations aimed at inspiring, informing, and supporting parents raising differently wired kids. Before I even introduce today's episode, I want to share what feels like a huge milestone. Today marks the 200th episode of this podcast. Next month, it will be four years since I started this show with a Vision of bringing honest, useful, and most importantly, real conversations to parents everywhere who were struggling or feeling isolated or overwhelmed in navigating their life as parent to a differently wired child. And since that time, four years ago, this podcast has continued to just grow month after month. I have been so fortunate to be

Able to tap dream guests like Ross Green and Steve Silberman and Dan Siegel and Julie Lithcott Haymes and Carol Cranowitz and so many more. It's just been so exciting to be able to reach out to these thought leaders and these experts and share their insights and their wisdom for parents like us. So today I'm gonna just ask for your help. I would love for you to share this podcast with people that you think would benefit. It could be friends and family. It could be people in a Facebook group that you're in. It could be people in an in real life group that you guys are having conversations about important topics for parents. And then this goes without saying I remind you guys every week at the end of the show, but please subscribe and review and rate.

The thing about doing a show for parents of differently wired kids is that a lot of this audience, they discover us by either those like 2 a.m. searches on Google when people are kind of at wits end and in crisis mode, or through word of mouth. Our community is such that a lot of us just aren't open about what's going on in our families. And so I really do rely on you guys to help me spread the word because what I know, what I hear from you guys, and what I hear from listeners everywhere is that when they find our show, they kind of instantly have this sense of belonging. Like, thank you. I found my tribe. I found the conversations that really resonate. with exactly what I'm going through. So I need your help to make sure that other parents can find us more easily.
Debbie Reber 3:24
So again, I just want to thank you for being a part of this show. I really do consider this to be a conversation that's taking place between all of us. You know, when I'm speaking to a guest, I definitely try to channel what I think your questions and concerns are as I talk to my guests. And then I love getting feedback from you about what this show has done for your family or what really clicked for you. So please keep that conversation going. Thank you so much for being on the other end of this. And let's keep the show going for another 200 plus episodes. I am totally in for it if you are. Okay, now I'm gonna pivot here and start talking about today's show. So this week I'm diving into the topic of body image issues and disordered eating.
Debbie Reber 4:11
This is something I've been looking to cover for some time now, and you know it's an important topic for all parents, but there are special considerations for parents raising differently wired kids. So for this discussion, I have brought on Zoe Bisbang and Leslie.
