Hey there, it's Debbie. For these last two weeks of December, I'm doing things a little differently. So I'm giving myself a much needed mini production break. And instead of sharing replays from the show, I'm releasing a set of special conversations that until now have only been available inside the Differently Wired Club. So today's episode is an expert visit with leadership coach, author, and mom of three Heather Chauvin about what What it really looks like to navigate unexpected detours in our lives and the everyday crises that leave us feeling exhausted and off course. Heather shares how she began treating herself as the keystone of her family ecosystem, what it means to move from reactive to proactive, and how we can all start honoring our fatigue instead of powering through it.
Also, you'll probably notice this conversation has a very different feel. From my regular interviews. They're a little freer. They get into deeper territory than we usually have time for on my show. So if you like this kind of thing, I highly encourage you to join us in the Differently Wired Club. We do calls like this every month, along with a bunch of live calls with me and a small group of parent coaches and a really incredible community of parents doing the work and seeing big changes happen in their families' lives. Seriously, come join us. It's my most favorite thing that I do here at Tilt. You can hop in anytime at Tiltparenting.com slash club. Oh, and one last thing. I was having trouble with my mic during this visit, so my audio is not great.
Luckily, Heather's is fantastic and she does most of the talking. I want to first welcome you guys to. The October expert visit with our special guest, Heather Shaubin. And as I said when I reached out to you, Heather, I thought of you for this theme specifically as we have been talking this month about navigating unexpected detours. And it comes after a month in which we were talking about how to bolster our emotional and energetic resources. So a theme that a lot of us are are dealing with this time of year. So what I'd love to do is start by reading your bio. I always do that when I have a guest, and then we'll just kind of jump in. This is a very casual conversation. Thanks for being on camera, you guys who are on camera.
And if you can't be, that's totally fine. Like just be here however you need to. So Heather Schumann is a leadership coach who helps successful women courageously and authentically live, work And parent in their own terms. Heather started her career as a social worker helping adults understand children's behavior, but it wasn't until 2013 when a stage four cancer diagnosis pushed her to take a deeper stand for change, uncovering how cultural expectations sabotage our dreams. She's been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, Real Simple Magazine, Mind Body Green, Google, and more. And when Heather isn't working, you'll find her living out what she teaches, which may include kayaking, snowboarding, hiking, anything else that challenges what she believes is possible for herself and inviting her children along the journey.
I've had Heather on my show. She's also the author of a wonderful book, Dying to Be a Good Mother. She's a podcast host. She's kind of a I was gonna say whirlwind. That's not the right word. You're a powerhouse. And you're also someone who I see as modeling so well, navigating complex lives with our kids and with our with our jobs and with our health and and all of the things. And that's the work that you do with women primarily. So is there anything that is not in in the bio I just read that you would want our community to know before we get started?
