What quirky opening jokes and everyday mishaps set the tone for the episode?
It's one thing to tag my husband, but it's another thing to tag my next husband. My other husband, yeah, my other husband, my boyfriend, my lover. They were just trying to take down every possible relationship that I had
at the moment.
This podcast is a dear media production. Hi guys. Hi guys. Welcome back to another episode of Girls Gotta Eat. Welcome back. Rayna. I like so it's 9 a.m. For you it is. We're way off schedule. I haven't pooped yet. I've just realized. I just like felt it in my stomach where I I I poop at 10 30 and you know that. Okay, you know when I poop, it's everything is an emergency. I will get up and leave the most important conversation I've ever been having. If I have to poop. stomach and I'm like, oh my God, this is not how we operate. This is the earliest I've ever had you get up. This is ridiculous. Get to get up and record Well, you live in LA, you have a healthy lifestyle, you know, here my body is trash. So we're in this heat wave here and it probably will have broken by the time this airs, but it's been so hot, but also humid and people are losing their minds.
Because truly, like the humidity is like we didn't sign up for that. It yes, it rains here, but it a hot, humid day, it it's out of body for us. No. So cal humidity, like I don't know. her. That's never met her.
How do the hosts transition from personal anecdotes about heat, humidity, and bathroom emergencies to the strange “free pastry” encounters?
That's the thing. It's weird. I like got back here from being on the East Coast and was like, what is this feeling? This is really off. You're not used to walking out in hot and humid and it's not raining. It's been a wild experience. So pray for us, everybody. It's probably over by the time you hear this, but hopefully we survived it. Well, I was also thinking like, okay, September eighth, first day of fall, fresh fresh new season. It's not. It's I'm going to I have to leave here to go to Columbus. It's ninety degrees in Columbus today. I know I was looking at going to Delaware in either September or October and I was like, I just want to be there what it is. There's a chill in the air, so I just I feel like I can't rely on September anymore.
So I need to push back to October. I think I thought this was like new season new me. I thought we were gonna like do a summer wrap up, like what were our what what do people say their pits and their peaks? Our roses and thorns. Of of the summer, but it's like summer's still here. We can do it next week. We can do whatever we want. It's still So technically summer next Monday will be the first like official day of fall. We'll do it then. All right. Don't worry about it, girl. You guys, you guys stay tuned for all the good and bad things that happened to us this summer. All right. We'll thank our partners and then we'll get into it. Thank you to Article. And okay, I I want to preface this by saying, like, I'm not a big bakery girly. I don't like really I'm not I'm not a big sweets person. Can't relate. I just you know what, I'm just like a pastry slut. Like I don't it's not even sweets, it's like a pastry.
I love a bakery. We love we love bread and butter in LA and Santa Monica. It's like incredible. But even like when we were out in the Hamptons every day, I'm like, what are where Where were we going today? Like going to Tate's, going to these little markets. So you're either more Ashley's friend or more Raina's friend when it comes to pastries and bakeries, but continue. I only like savory pastries and I love them. Like I will eat a ham and cheese pastry every morning. And so, like, when I find a place that does them, I'm very excited.
