Hey everyone, welcome to the Group Dentistry Now Show. I'm Bill Newman and as always we appreciate you joining us today. Um always have such great topics and and guests uh to talk about um and talk with. We're going to focus on orthodontic diagnostics and and workflow standardization and And Danny, you can certainly chime in here, but it seems like there's been a real big focus on DSOs bringing specialty into their practices as of late. And uh, you know, it's this move from mergers and acquisition to doing more in the existing practices that they already have. And that includes doing more specialty.
How did Danny Abraham’s background shape the creation of Orca Dental AI and CephX?
Orthodonics seems to be If not at the top, right at the top of priorities for you know there, whether they have orthodontists in their groups or whether they're looking to have their general practitioners do more orthodontic work. So it's going to be a great conversation, I think. Uh I'm excited to talk about it. And we have with us uh Danny Abraham He is the CEO and founder of Orca Dental AI, and they are the developer of the FDA Cleared Ceph X platform. What's really cool about their platform and the organization is that they are in, I think I've got this right, over 80 countries right now. You have clinicians using the solution. So this is for all of our listeners, not just our US-based listeners. But Danny, it's great to have you here.
Yeah, thanks a lot, Bill. I really appreciate it. And uh I'm excited to share a little bit uh about my journey and uh about what uh Orca has to offer and the way we understand the market and hopefully the way we can contribute and help um this space. Uh not only of the DSOs, there's also the OSOs, which is Basically the same thing, just dedicated to orthodonics. Um, but both are obviously uh potential customers of ours.
How has orthodontic diagnostics evolved with digital technology and AI?
Um And yeah, I I would love to uh Again, share my uh journey, share uh what we're doing and uh maybe just a little bit about myself and the company. Um please. Yeah, so uh I I grew up uh with the father as an orthodontist, uh so kind of from the sidelines. I saw my dad uh kind of struggle or at least the challenges of orthodontics in the whole field, and then I got mine um uh master of science um degree and uh kind of mesh the two pieces of knowledge together and created uh Cephex or Orca rather Cephex is the uh brand name um and the company has been uh dedicated uh to AI bringing the the AI kind of uh evolution to um dentistry in general, but kind of uh specifically to orthodontics. Uh it started off as uh a technician based uh uh kind of local solution, but then um fast forward to two thousand seventeen, we spun off to a technology based company and um
It uh, you know, fast forward to today, we serve uh thousands of clinicians worldwide, as you said, in eighty countries, DSOs, imaging and uh um uh PMS solutions, aligner providers, just pretty much everybody along the the value chain um of uh of the space and as you say we're uh FDA cleared and both 2D and 3D imaging uh have a huge uh uh data set and are um operating in 80 countries so yeah it's it's definitely been uh an interesting ride.
Well, yeah, maybe before we get uh started, I'm really curious to get your perspective on things. How have you seen Orthodonics really change since the founding of your organization to to to now? Um, it seems a lot more technology focused than it used to be. Uh and and and what does that learning curve look like for some of the the DSOs out there?
Well, I would say in general, dentistry, um, and and again, specifically orthodontics, um, there's been huge and still is a huge shift towards digital uh processes um with regards to what happens inside the practice.
