What is Focus Stack Thursday and how does it differ from the Monday episodes?

Jess Przulj 0:01
Hey, hey mamas, welcome to Focus Stack Thursday. This is the new format for our Thursday episodes where we're gonna take what we talked about on Monday and we're gonna apply that conversation to your real life, giving you action steps or simple stack challenges, anything that you can take and actually apply over your weekend. So this is your opportunity to stack right alongside me, rework, redesign the routines that you live in your life. Let's get to it. Honestly, you guys, I'm really excited about these Thursday episodes because I think this might be the missing piece for a lot of you out there. You're listening to the podcast, you're thinking, wow, this makes so much sense. I totally get what she's saying.

But then it's a completely other thing to actually sit down, stop long enough to look at your own routines, and then Realize where the things are breaking down in your life personally. And take what I'm talking about and make it make sense. Apply it and actually do it. So if you haven't printed the weekly focus guide, that is down in the show notes. You are going to want to go print that off so that you can take a moment this weekend. Do some evaluating. Where are your routines working? Where are they not working for you? Break down the challenges that I give you and really put in the time and the effort to get some change. I know you need relief. I know things are stressful for you at home. You've got little

kids. So take what we talk about on Monday, take that episode, but then interpret it for your life. And I kept thinking, how do we do that as busy moms? We're so exhausted with our kids all the time. We're probably walking around frustrated with all of our routines because we just can't get it together, right? No matter how hard you try, the kids are disrupting them. They're breaking your routines. The reason they matter so much is because your routines. The things you're doing from the moment you wake up till the moment you go to bed, those are your routines. Those routines are supposed to create outcomes. Well, your morning routine is supposed to help you have a smoother morning. Your end-of-the-day routine, it's supposed to make you feel more prepared for tomorrow.
Jess Przulj 2:27
You're not just doing the motions, you're not just doing the dishes and putting the kids to bed. There's a purpose for those routines. Your workout routine is supposed to help you stay more consistent with your health.

Why do SAHM routines break during seasonal changes like summer?

Jess Przulj 2:39
You see, the sequence is designed to give you an outcome. So if you haven't designed your routines, well that's what we're gonna talk about. This is what your Thursday episodes are gonna look like. We need to start designing these routines in a way That ensure the outcome happens gives you something to focus on, even when you're in a chaotic season and constantly being interrupted by kids. So your morning routine is designed to get you ready and out the door. Your after school routine is designed to take care of the kids when they return home from school. The end of the day reset should make you feel fully prepared for the next day and And maybe that workout routine while we're staying consistent with our health.
Jess Przulj 3:24
If you've taken the time to plan these out. Thinking through what do your routines look like. It should help you go to bed on time. It should help you stay calm or to feel organized. And if these are not the outcomes you're experiencing after you do the routine Then I can 100% assume and guarantee that your routines are broken. It should be as simple as that. When you evaluate these routines that you're spending your time doing every day, you're the one doing them. So after listening to Monday's episode, I feel like it's safe to say that not many moms would argue that living at home with small children creates a ton of interruptions. These are one of the reasons that the routines do break. It's not the only reason, but it's the one we're talking about today.
Jess Przulj 4:14
What I'm hoping you'll see after this week is that I don't want you to assume they're broken because you're interrupted constantly.
