Why do moms feel pressure to create the “best summer ever” for their kids?
And I think that's why this topic matters so much, because the pressure we feel during summer isn't about the activities themselves and trying to make it a magical experience. It's about the fear that somehow We're missing an opportunity. If we don't maximize every minute, create enough memory, schedule enough fun, or make the season feel special enough, then we've somehow fallen short for our kids. When you really stop and think about it, that's a pretty heavy burden to carry. Hey mama, welcome to the Habit Stacking Mom Show. Do you want to feel less exhausted and burnt out by motherhood? Do you find yourself up late at night Googling daily routines and more energy? Do you wake up with big, ambitious goals only to feel overwhelmed managing everyone else's expectations and ignoring your own?
Hey, I'm Jess. I too am a mom of littles who teetered on the edge of burnout. I felt extremely defeated chasing. Kids all day, and I wished I didn't feel like a constant failure. I wanted to stop losing patience with my kids and husband and create some structure, but the unpredictability in my home, I had no idea how to make that happen. Until I found a better way to organize my daily routines. In this podcast, you will find a plan to create balance, strategies to declutter your home and mind, and tips to boost your energy and confidence. You'll feel so So much more accomplished each day and show up stronger for your family. It's time to pop in your ear pods, shake up your fizz, and let's get stacking.
Hey hey mamas! How did it go? How was your first focused weekend. We went over quite a bit last week as far as the new format. I gave you some homework, something to think about, just over the weekend when you had time. So consider Monday, today, your reminder that the days they keep going. And will always do what they're going to do, regardless of whether you do what you plan to do or not. Think about that. The day is just gonna go. It's not gonna stop and say, Hey, did you have time to do that thing? It just keeps going. And so you have to become aware of those minutes that are just ticking away. And it isn't the same thing as, oh, the time will pass, your kids will grow and you'll miss these days. That is not what I'm talking about.
It's not what I mean at all. I mean if you don't make a plan, stick to a plan, then the minutes will pass. And it doesn't care if you accomplish your goal or not. No one is coming to rescue you. So on Monday, the They're not gonna look at you and say, so did you accomplish what you said you were gonna do last week? They're not. Nobody's gonna check in on you and ask you that. And honestly, that's what makes it easy to not do it. Or to create a million excuses as to why you couldn't stick to the plan that you created. We all do it. I get it, mama. We have constant interruptions. We talked about that last week. But here's the challenge. It won't ever, ever, ever be anything different. The interruptions, that busy schedule, it's just going to get a different kind of busy pattern.
It still has the same underlying problem. That problem is that you have allowed your habits to run on autopilot. and determine your day to day on accident. Rather than intentionally. Pretty simple to do actually. just goes on to autopilot. We just do the things we're used to doing. So on these Mondays going forward, I hope that it will become your mirror. Or if nothing else, it becomes your pattern interruption. The moment in your week. Where I get to hold up the mirror and I get to say, Did you do what you said you were going to do? It isn't a good or bad. It's simply a data point in your week. Did you do it? So I would recommend getting out the weekly focus guide and reflect right now. Pull it out and think.
Did I implement it? Or did I just go through the motions again, make a great plan and really think through it, and then I didn't follow through? This isn't judgment at all. It's just data. It's just the patterns you live by. We want to get them out of autopilot and bring them front and center. So I would suggest that you keep these weekly guides, maybe even in a binder.
