It's time for a number of newer storylines to get moving, and we have a bunch of predictions, some based on what's next in Fire and Blood. As always, there's no leaks included, just interviews, the books, trailers, and our own speculation. Laenor didn't die, so he inherited, and, well, it's cool to be a Dragonrider Lord of Driftmark. That had never happened before. We're having fun with that. There's two hatchlings we have called Frostfire and Wildfire. We named one of them and the game named the other. It just kind of worked out that way. I will also mention some episodes at the end that relate to this one, but let's get to our review or preview today by checking out the trailer and then we'll move on to some book canon stuff and some shots we haven't seen and some stills. Lots of good stuff to work with. We have this shot of Tumbleton by the Manderer, which is where the trailer begins. Rhaenyra says, why seize Tumbleton? She's not quite clear on what it could mean in terms of strategy. We know it's not super far. Books-wise, it's about 50 leagues from King's Landing to Tumbleton. But she doesn't understand what he hopes to accomplish, doesn't understand how she can be matched in her current power. Some of that is her confidence or arrogance, especially if you lean towards Damon's influence on her.
But more of it is just her, I think, getting ahead of herself and maybe a little naivete on the military situation and how things work in terms of campaigns and wars and all that sort of thing. She continues the sentence, presumably, by saying, he dares me to rain fire on a seat that raised my banner. So yes, that's an important mention that the place, Tumbleton itself, the small castle associated with, it's a market town. Not exactly a fortress. In fact, it's the opposite of that. A lot of people at risk there, and that's kind of the point, I think, when this is expressed in this comment. So she kind of grasped that part of the strategy, that in order to just deal with it the simplest way possible would make her look really bad.
She would lose a lot of legitimacy, which, as we just got through explaining on our regular reviews each Monday at 6 p.m., especially this recent one, that she very, very much cares about her legitimacy. So she kind of understands how this would connect to that, at least on some degree. You can also see behind her there a Kingsguard, which she didn't have before. She was encouraged to get one. I don't think this necessarily means she has a whole seven. In fact, I kind of doubt that, but we at least have one. I don't know who that is, but presumably we'll find out during the episode. Even if they don't name him, we'll be checking the credits. He'll be in the IMDb at the very least. We have the streets of Tumbleton, so we're definitely going to get right to it, I suppose, in the episode, unless this is later in it.
But I think this is probably going to be, given the trailer, just a very major feature of it. This is going to be some of the most important part of the setup for the rest of the season, if not a little longer.
