We are making changes and glowing up in ways that actually will last and sustain us from the inside out. Here at Hot and Unbothered. Being hot is a mindset, and staying unbothered is a state of being where whatever is happening on our phones or in the outside world, the validation we don't need it. And I am so happy you're here today, whether it is your first time here or your millionth time here.

Hi, I'm so glad to have you.

Why does starting the day with a phone cause a dopamine overload?

Brianna Gomez 2:36
This is going to be a very important episode, and chances are if you clicked on it, you may struggle with some phone adjustments. Addiction, you might just check your notifications first thing in the morning. I am here to tell you I have cracked the code. And I can guarantee you something from this episode actually. The second that you stop starting your mornings with your phone with the dopamine spike, you will never want to go back. And right now, you may be someone listening to this who's thinking, well, it can't be that bad of a problem. Ever Everyone starts their morning with their phone. I need to get back to people. I need to check work. I need to check my notifications first thing, but I'm still in control until the second you start implementing the changes I'm about to mention in this episode and you realize wait a second.
Brianna Gomez 3:23
I was actually addicted. I have actually, for the past years on end, created a habit, a ritual for myself to be a slave to my phone. And whatever I see on my phone is completely out of my control. So you could wake up and see the saddest thing on Instagram, the most uncomforting, disturbing thing on TikTok, the meanest. Worst email from your boss. You're starting your day like that. So the new goal for us is in this episode, I am going to show you how to have a morning to yourself, a moment to yourself, before you get sucked into that online world. A lot of people don't realize this, but your phone, and I hate to sound all hippie grandma on you, our phones are portals to negative energy and it's not to say that everything that happens on your phone is negative but it's to say that we don't have control over what we are seeing on our phone.
