Welcome everybody to another episode of the Keeping Curls and Fantasy Hockey Podcast, the longest running fantasy hockey podcast in the world, hosted by two guys who have like so much to talk about. I have no idea how we're gonna fit this into a single episode. The trade deadline was freaking awesome. I'm your host, Elon Dubrovsky, and with me to break down all of the moves from the trade deadline, plus some like very interesting injuries and outries and hot streaks and cold streaks. We're gonna try to fit it. It's Brian Calm. Brian, how's it going?
Hey, I'm good, man. It's uh it's been a low at least in Kekupville, it's been a low impact week. Uh I'm winning while having made no moves, although uh I've got a bit of a close matchup, Elon. I'm projected to lose by eight, but I'm currently up thirteen. Uh, and that's because uh well the reason I think I'm projected to lose by eight is because Connor McDavid is still to play at nine thirty. Yeah. So we'll see how that goes for me, if I can survive a last minute uh McDavid onslaught. But hey uh this is uh like the the r the outcome means nothing to me. It would just be nice to pad my win count at this moment. I'm looking I'm looking to the semis and the cupful feels good. And uh I don't know, Elon, three or four short days ago you were doing the same.

First of all, Brian, once again, you kill me with like it was a low impact week for fantasy when our Dynasty team was in the quarterfinals. Oh,
that's different. I have I have other teams. It was a high impact week for one team. I had a must-win week in another league and I won. And Dynasty was of course a must-win and
And we we won. We got this, yeah. Yeah. So uh kudos to Blake and Josh for a a good matchup, but we're going to the semis, baby. I think. I don't know. Now I'm like I brag too much and it gets me. Yeah. I uh basically figured out that if I win my cupful matchup this week, I also get a buy just like you. I sent you a message on like Wednesday when I was up by forty-five or fifty. It was looking like I was running away with this thing. I was like, Hey Brian, what did Ottawa used to be called? called and they were like, I don't know, Bytown. I was like, I'll see you there in a couple of weeks. And I took it literally. I didn't get it. It wasn't a great thing. Oh, you're coming to visit. You're coming to
visit? And then you're like, Yeah, I am. Uh but that's like in a few weeks later I was talking about something like that.
Uh yeah, but no, uh Disco Sean decided to uh come back in a huge way, and his players, I guess more likely, my players specifically. Have I mentioned right how much I hate Austin Matthews? Uh he is the worst, just a total useless piece of garbage, if I may. So uh I feel like Austin Matthews did did not help. Uh yeah, Disco Sean's team. How many
would have been so much I mean, it's probably it's probably getting a little tiresome, but how many weeks would have been just so much easier had you? Even sixty percent of what you expected from Matthews, if he was just providing that, you wouldn't I would
definitely have the bye locked in a long time ago. Yeah. But uh whatever. Can't complain. Except I will say, Brian, I had to a couple of my worst ever uh like ads. I really blew it. Like I could even be fine. I'm right now, it's like again, super close. I know I know this is like overdone. Every week I'm saying this now, but it's like once again I'm up by three points. Uh we got still a bunch of players left to go. Uh my opponent. On here has John Gibson, who currently has a shutout. Yes, I am trying to jinx it halfway through this game against New Jersey, which I'm hoping will get broken. So it's gonna be tight again. I'll try my best not to be distracted. But yeah, I blew it. But it's like I don't feel that like I I thought they were smart moves at the time, but I had two ads left.
