Karsson, Carlsson, världens bästassom, Carlsson, Carlsson. Carlsson, Carlssom. Ingen faktiskt, ingen annan karasson som är så bra som mig. Carlsson, Carlsson. Nossa, uma câmera.
Everybody to another episode of the Keeping Carlson Fantasy Hockey Podcast, the longest running. Fantasy hockey podcast in the world, hosted by a guy who spent so much time over the past week discussing and debating the Villy Koivanen contract extension, which is like so peak mid-August fantasy off season. Cause I don't even care. Like I really just don't even care at all, but still I was having opinions and having discussions. So that's where I'm at. I'm your host, Yolan Dubrowski, with me once again for part two of our twenty twenty six draft recap series. It's Ryan Downey. Ryan, how's it going?
Hey, Elon, I'm good. It's uh you know, we had a lot of fun last week. We figured we'd come back and do this again. Uh and yeah, let's take a break from talking about Vili Koivan and let's get back into some more exciting players uh with this twenty twenty six NHL entry draft.
I guess we can as we go through each player, we can be like, Do you think this guy will ever get an eight year contract with their team? That could be like the benchmark of how like significant they're gonna be. Uh yeah, we can give
it a shot for sure.
So Keeping Carlson, probably presented by Dauberhockey.com. They've released their guide. So definitely check that out. The the world famous, I think first of its kind, digital dauber guide with all the projections and everything. So definitely check that out. Uh I will mention also before we start. The Keeping Carlson Ultimate Patron Fantasy League registration deadline is slowly creeping up. It's like gonna be around the start of September. So if you haven't uh registered yet, don't don't let it slip by. We've been And you you could come become a patron right now, register for couple, sign up for some mock drafts, you gotta get mock in, you know? You can't just go in like you're gonna if you don't do a mock draft, then you're gonna be like midway through your draft and then someone's gonna take like Alex Barkov and you're gonna be like, Oh, right.
I forgot about him because he didn't play last year, is maybe not going on you know, you gotta refresh yourself on what what the player values are. So Uh check it out. I think it's a lot of fun anyways. Even if you don't want to join the couple, come mock with us. So uh keepingcarlson.com, I don't know, slash patron will get you to our our Patreon. You'll figure it out from there. Uh but okay, those are all the announcements. I'm gonna get started here. So where we left off last week and go check out last week's episode, definitely. Uh we went through the top twenty-one drafted players in the draft. And of course we veered off here and there, discussed some other people along the way. But I think the plan for today is we'll finish off the first round.
See, you know, the the general idea is asking Ryan, you know, is this guy anything for fan like you know, fantasy purposes? Like, is this gonna be someone that you're gonna want in your dynasty league that's gonna produce for you one day, or is he gonna be more of a re IRL real life? You know, like we talked about some guys like Malte Gustafsson and Alexander Command, who Ryan was saying, you know, maybe good players, I don't know, not gonna necessarily uh be someone you're gonna be excited about in Fantasy as opposed to people even drafted later, like a Hermanson or a Ryan Lynn, who we think there might be some big offensive upside. So we'll go through the first round. Then we'll like talk about some other players that Ryan thinks are noteworthy that went uh in the second round and later.
And then also we got some questions from the patrons, just generic prospect questions, which are very interesting. So I'm excited to get into all of that. So let's just dive in. Twenty second overall in this draft, the Pittsburgh Penguins took Liam Ruck, one of the Ruck brothers. I think it's fair to say we might as well talk about both of uh these brothers at one time.
