Welcome everybody to another episode of the Keeping Cirls and Fantasy Hockey Podcast, the longest running fantasy hockey podcast in the world, hosted by a guy who's totally doing this episode just for making good content, not because I'm doing recon for tier one of next year. I'm your host, Elon Dubrowski, and with me, not Brian this week, we're doing a little interview series about some of the best and brightest stars of fantasy hockey this past year, and we've got the brightest one of all joining. me w because sitting here on this StreamYard call is I mean there's so many things to say, but I guess the main headline is the tier one ca cupful ultimate champion, Jordan. Welcome to the show, Jordan, and congratulations.
Thank you. Uh it's nice to be here. Finally have the W under my belt after so long. You know, sometimes you you go through it and it's it's hard. You know, you just keep trying, you trying, you're trying, but perseverance and eventually you get there. Sometimes.
What a a story to that we can tell our kids, right? Of just like I once knew a guy, Jordan, that lost and lost. But the thing is like On one hand, yeah, you kept on not winning, but on the other hand, you've been in tier one at the cupful for this was your sixth season. And the only way to stay in tier one, actually I think this year we changed it, and the winner of the constellation bracket also got to stay, but before this season, it's been you had to make the playoffs be top six at a fourteen. And this isn't just like top six of any league. This is top six against like the best. You're uh every year new people are coming in who just like won their tier three division. Like, you know, like all the top
People and every year you've been making the playoffs and clearly proving that you're one of the best fantasy players in the world, if not the best. Just like even if you hadn't won this year, even if you were like, I don't know, who's the NHL equivalent of who you're kind of like Ovechkin before he won the cup, right? Like every year it was like the caps, you're like, they're gonna win sometime soon. This team team looks pretty good, but uh you pulled it off. I was in tier one with you a few of those years. I don't know, like what's more impressive even like I got into tier one, just took me a couple of years to win an ultimate championship. But then I the following year I came in thirteenth place and I got relegated to tier three and that's where I've been ever since.
So I don't know. I think uh yeah, I think I'd r probably trade. But anyway, like there's so much I want to talk to you about. Here's the thing like we've got now this expert. I want to do this, like kind of like I was talking to Jordan, like a survivor exit interview after the the winner, um one of my favorite survivor podcasts. He brings on the winner. Uh, and then like they just talk about the game. But the thing is with Jordan. Like, I want to talk about this season, but also I feel like this is a culmination of like six seasons worth of of play, of elite play. So, yeah, there's definitely gonna be a lot to dive into. But one thing I want to do first is something I always forget to do, and then I always tell myself afterwards, like, Elon, come on, like, be a human.
So, like, Jordan, why don't you like tell us about yourself outside of fantasy hockey? Like, where do you live? Like, what do you do? I feel like I'm always like talking to people, and afterwards, like, oh, who is that guy? Where does he? I don't know. I just talked to him for an hour and a half.
Yeah, so uh I'm from Edmonton, a diehard Oilers fan for my whole life. Actually went to I talked to this with you. I went to the Oilers game last night. It was that's crazy. Thank God they won. They always put me through the ringer. But um jeez, yeah. That was fun. How are you
