Tim Gettys 0:46
gettys what a time to be alive we now know what ocarina looks like we know when it's coming out it's so soon so soon so damn soon and bless we have a whole other nintendo direct tomorrow how excited are you oh 10 out of 10 Really? Yeah. I mean, look, I feel like now, I mean, we're getting towards the end of the year, so it's not a surprise, but we know the rest of Nintendo's year. Yeah. We're about to learn what Nintendo's next year looks like.
Blessing Adeoye Jr. 1:11
Do we know the rest of Nintendo's year?
Tim Gettys 1:13
It's Zelda.
Blessing Adeoye Jr. 1:14
You're forgetting about the D word.
Tim Gettys 1:17
Duskbloods. Oh, okay. That still needs a date. It does. Are you thinking this
Blessing Adeoye Jr. 1:22
year? Here's the thing. I think it could come out this year. It feels like a December game. Doing the preview, right? Like, seeing the closed network test. I feel like that's a game that if they wanted it to come out this year, they could get it out. It's just a matter of date-wise, schedule-wise, does it make sense for it to come out this year? I also think it could be a December game.
Tim Gettys 1:41
I don't know that it should, but, like, the Switch 2 is a semi-different audience. The Switch 2 playing Duskbloods? I don't know.
Blessing Adeoye Jr. 1:53
My opinion is that this game is so specific that any other game coming out in December, I'm like, get out the way. Let people experience GTA 6. That game, though, I feel like December is fine. The people that are going to play Dustbloods are going to play Dustbloods. They're going to end up there. I think we're fine with that.
Tim Gettys 2:17
I think that it'll be as safe as it can be. How safe can it be? I don't know. We'll see. There was a lot of trepidation about Night Rain, a multiplayer Elden Ring of like, is this going to hit on the level it needs to? And the answer was yes, it works. So I think Dustbloods has more working against it, mainly the Switch.
Blessing Adeoye Jr. 2:40
I mean, it being a Switch 2 exclusive, I think heavily works against it. I also think it being a competitive game works against it. It's a sweaty game. Playing that game at the preview, it's like, oh, you got to be into this shit. It feels like a FromSoft game for FromSoft fucking nerds. There's a lot of them. There's a lot of you. There are a lot of me. And again, I think the people who are going to find this game and flock to this game are going to find it and flock to it. Now, the amount of those people that own a Nintendo Switch 2... Not as... Those people are used to playing these games on other consoles. In fact, when was the last FromSoft game that came out for Switch 2 or for a Nintendo platform, right?
Blessing Adeoye Jr. 3:21
We're not talking about Dark Souls Remastered. Exactly. That's the thing. At launch? Wow. Yeah. It's such a weird thing. I like it as an experiment. I like it just as a... I want to see how this works. If this works, how long does this last? Does it last? I have so many questions with it, but... Listen, they said 2026. Did they? I don't remember that. Yeah. Okay. I believe they said 2026. And so I expect December.
Tim Gettys 3:48
And yeah, so besides that, I don't expect any major games coming out from Nintendo this year. There's always the chance that we get a surprise tomorrow that is something this year. It just doesn't feel right. And I also don't think they need it. No, like they've had a very consistent year of titles that people are enjoying and buying. Like, I don't think they, that they had the one like Megaton hit, uh, core gamer game, because I think this year has really been about the Tamodachi lives and the Pokemon Pocopias, and that's excellent, but then we have Ocarina of Time, and I think that really does kind of fill that spot for what they just need to do to check the box of a big game that keeps the core Nintendo gamer happy, and then that opens up next year.
