Meanwhile, Trump filed a $5 billion lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase and the bank's CEO Jamie Dimon on Thursday. The allegations, it closed Trump's accounts in 2021 over woke motivations following the January 6th riot at the Capitol. The suit says the bank violated its own principles when it terminated multiple accounts belonging to Trump and his business.
It states, quote, plaintiffs are confident that JPMC's unilateral decision came about as a result of political and social motivations and JPMC's unsubstantiated, quote, woke belief that it needed to distance itself from President Trump and his conservative political views. In essence, JPMC debanked plaintiffs accounts because it believed that the political tide at the moment favored doing so.
The president also rescinded his invitation last night to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to join his Gaza Board of Peace. Daily Wire reporter Zach Jewell has the details.
The president wrote on Truth Social, quote, Dear Prime Minister Carney, please let this letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canada's joining what will be the most prestigious board of leaders ever assembled at any time.
Trump's reversal followed Carney's speech on Tuesday at the World Economic Forum, where he appeared to take a shot at the U.S. and Trump, saying that, quote, American hegemony once helped provide public goods, open sea lanes, a stable financial system, collective security, and support for frameworks for resolving disputes. This bargain no longer works. Let me be direct.

Federal investigators are looking into the death of longtime Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, focusing on his medical treatment and reported drug use. According to the Washington Post, the FBI had issued subpoenas seeking records tied to prescriptions for opioids and ketamine, as well as his relationship with a California addiction doctor. Irsay died in May at age 65.
No autopsy was performed and the investigation is ongoing.
Former Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding has been arrested after nearly a year on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list. FBI Director Kash Patel says Wedding was taken into custody in Mexico and is being transferred to California to face federal charges.
