All the time we'll talk about blind news, we aim to amuse and we aim to enthuse, and Morris is unofficial, time we'll talk, I'll be teaching. Woo doggy, ha!
Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to Morris' unofficial tabletop RPG talk. I am Russ, a.k.a. Morris, or Morris, a.k.a.
Russ, and with me this week is... PJ Coffey from the Southampton Guild of Roleplayers, also of Homebrew and Hacking TTRPG Design. I am, as always, delighted to be here. And joining us also, fresh from fluttering her fairy wings in a most whimsical and possibly... Tanya-esque fashion, it's the one, it's the only, it's... It's me, Jessica from EM Publishing.
Yes, this very morning I woke up in a tent in a fantasy world, but now I am here on the podcast. But if I am a little bit slow or, you know, say something weird, that's why. That'll be my excuse this week.
Hmm. As I mentioned to you earlier today, when you shared some of the pictures from this, uh, fantasy excursion, which you, uh, which you went this weekend, there were significantly more pirates than I would have expected to see in a forest.
Yes. Well, there is a, um, a band called you banished privateers. They're a pirate band, if you can't tell. And I want to see them three times because they are very good. And a lot of people go along as pirates as part of their cosplay. There's all sorts of cosplays. There's, there's like fantasy, like classic Lord of the Rings. There's sci-fi. So there's Star Trek, there's Star Wars, there's people that are going post-apocalyptic, like things from Fallout or there's steampunk stuff. There's everything. So it's there's fantasy for us, but it's not just like kind of your classic Fae fantasy. But anyway, it's a great festival. I had a lovely time, but I'm very glad to be here to talk about the Tabletop RPG News live, as we always are, 8pm UK time and 3pm Eastern on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook.
Would you like to know what the very first bit of TTRPG news we have in store today is?
Boy, would I. Thank goodness for that.
I was worried you wouldn't. Beedle and Grimms. You're familiar with Beadle and Grimm's. They're deluxe boxed sets of official D&D adventures. They tend to be a little bit on the pricey side, but you do get a lot of stuff in there. But I think we might have, I'm not sure, we might have a record with this one. Because the current one for Arcana Unleashed Deadpool, or Arcana Unleashed Deadpool, depending on whether you're British or American, their Platinum Edition comes in at $509.
That is quite a lot of dollars. That is a lot of dollars. I know Beedle and Grimm's are pricey, but generally I see the value when we go through them.
You do get a lot of stuff. So you get a D&D Beyond code. 16 painted miniatures. And I think I have a picture of those. Yeah, there's the miniatures there. 16 painted miniatures. 18 battle maps. A poster map of Thay. A DM screen. 20 in-world handouts. A player-facing guide to Eltabar, which is called Volo's Eltabar in Chiridion. 43 encounter cards, 39 magic item cards, 2 bonus adventures, one called Spy Games and one called Extraction, 3 player maps, 5 annotated dungeon maps, a bastion player aid, a replica of Sastam's Sensor, 2 brooches slash pins, a sending stone replica, an antiquated metal coin, as well, of course, the actual adventure. which is Arcana Unleashed Deadfall, split into different chapters, different booklets.
They tend to split them up into different booklets to make them more easily digestible.
Big adventure path, levels 11 to 20. So, yeah, I imagine splitting it up does make sense.
Yeah.
Well, that is a lot of stuff. Yeah.
$550? Well, $509.
Yeah, $500.
I mean, that's half a grand. Yes. This is not trip change.
Yeah, it is a lot of money. I think hearing all the stuff in it, though, with the production, I can see why you've got to that price point, though, in terms of... As somebody that does manufacturing and things like that.
Yeah. So this thing ships in November, so you can pre-order it now. There is actually a pre-order sale, $458. So basically you save $50 if you pre-order it now.
