20 Dec 2025
Chapter 1: Why should you set up a dedicated PPC campaign for Christmas?
Ho ho ho PPC campaign time for Christmas. My name is Stephen Pope.
Chapter 2: What are the best budget allocation strategies for Amazon PPC?
I'm the founder of my Amazon guy. And you might be wondering, should you be setting up a dedicated PPC campaign for your Amazon brand for the Christmas season?
Chapter 3: How can you effectively target holiday gift keywords?
The answer is yes, almost everybody should be doing this unless you sell swimwear in the middle of summer. But even then, I'd probably still sell PPC campaign gifts for swimmers or something like that.
Chapter 4: What methods can you use to validate keywords on Amazon?
Let's dive in.
All right, so if you go over to the campaign builder inside of Seller Central, you'll come to a screen that looks like this, and this should be familiar to you, but if not, sponsored products, sponsored brands, video ads, display, all that good stuff, any one of these will work for this concept today, but you should always, always, always start with sponsored products, and that is because this is the bread and butter.
Chapter 5: What is the importance of seasonal keyword strategy and campaign end dates?
90% of all sales should be coming from sponsored products, and it's over... emphasize for display and, and, and sponsored brands.
Chapter 6: How should you adjust bids for gift keywords during the holiday season?
And not enough people are realizing they really should be putting 90% of their budget and sponsored products, unless you're spending 50 K or more per month. And in that case, you're going to have some, um, some challenges getting those diminishing returns to continue, uh, in sponsored products.
Chapter 7: What are the best practices for budget planning in short holiday campaigns?
And you're going to dip into the brand and the video and the display. Let's go into sponsored products.
Chapter 8: How can you optimize your PPC campaigns quickly during the Christmas rush?
So here, um, We're going to sidestep some of the basics like naming conventions and stuff like that. But in here, let's just say I'm going to be selling this utility knife. And the whole idea that I have in setting up this campaign is I want to sell this product to a new customer. Okay, so what does that mean? Somebody that wouldn't have found it in any other shape or form.
So my concept is I'm gonna be going for some manual targeting. That means I'm gonna select the keywords and I'm gonna go keyword targeting and I'm gonna enter in a list. Now you could go look at suggested keywords at any point in time, but that's not gonna be helpful for today's session because we're going for that Christmas campaign. So I'm gonna enter in the list
And I'm gonna do something such as this. I'm gonna think about things that somebody would do during the Christmas season that's unique to this product. So it's a utility knife. Well, who needs a utility knife? Hmm, let me think. A handyman. So gifts for handyman. Now, if you're not sure if this keyword is going to work, first of all, you can see a lot of suggestions in here that will work.
Gifts for handy dad, handy man, gifts for all kinds of related keywords here. And you could add in all of these different variations to make that work. And all of these are valid and good. So on the right, we can set the match type. For the Christmas campaign purposes, I'm going to say bend the rules a tiny bit and include some of the match types together.
It's not as important for this particular campaign. We're not going for technical. We're going for Christmas and creative juices with that in mind. One of the other things we're going to do here is open up another tab and go over to Amazon. And we're going to type in the keyword that we're looking at. So gifts for handyman. And I just want to see what shows up.
Is this going to be relevant for somebody like this that's searching this? And here we can see current ads. We've got some mag lights showing up, which, yep, that makes sense to me. We scroll to the right, recharging packs. Yep, that makes sense. Scroll down, random accessory items, toolkits, et cetera. So would a utility knife make sense in this mix? I think winner, winner, chicken dinner.
It's a good one. So if you're never sure if a keyword is going to work, just go plop it directly into Amazon and check it out. Otherwise, you could just plop it into the PBC campaign and run it and spend 20 clicks of dollars on it and find out through that way, which honestly, Most of you are going to probably do that for hundreds of keywords and that's totally fine.
It just, how much you willing to pay for that research is really what it comes down to. All right. So gifts are handy, man. Now your job to set the rest of the campaign up would be to come up with five or 10 more Christmas themed keywords, uh, as it relates to that. So utility knife gift, we could type in something like this, see what else comes up. Something like that would probably be okay. Um,
utility gift. This one's probably a stretch, but utility gifts for men is showing up, probably gonna be okay. Let's go over and just double check it. Go over to the amazon.com, type in utility gift. Quite frankly, we're seeing very similar products, probably an okay keyword, a lot of sharp objects showing up here. So you get the idea of how you could go about this research.
