Chapter 1: What holiday traditions are discussed in this episode?
Hello, everyone. Welcome to NeuroDivergent Moments December Patreon. It is Christmas, everyone.
What?
Merry Christmas or merry whatever you celebrate.
Yeah, happy Hanukkah, happy holidays, happy Christmas, happy December if you hate the holiday. Now, I am on record on NeuroDivergentMoments screaming how I hate Christmas. And I got to be honest, this year, pretty much looking forward to it. How are you feeling?
Are you? Yeah. I feel the same actually. Yeah, you know, I think it's what, 10 seconds to be mentioning my baby, but I have a baby, if you don't know. Yeah. And I'm looking forward to it.

Chapter 2: How do shopping experiences impact holiday celebrations?
I think she doesn't know what Christmas is yet, but she is able to open presents. It's very cute. And probably able to give people presents. Not source the presents herself, but she's able to give them to family. So I think it's going to be good. I've got my Christmas jumper on.
Yes, it's adorable.
It's got Louis Theroux on it.
Love it.
This was a gift a couple of years ago from some company because I'm a social media influencer.
That's cool.
Okay. Have you ever had this where like a company will mistake you for being a social media influencer because you've got some Instagram followers and they send you free stuff? Have you had that?
I've never had anyone actually send me free stuff.

Chapter 3: What are the family dynamics surrounding Christmas presents?
I've had people offer to send me free stuff and I'm like, sure. And then the conversation fizzles out pretty quickly.
So...
What have they offered to send you?
One time they offered to send me this like thing that like keeps your steak warm, like basically a piece of what is it? Cast iron that you can serve steak on that you would in like a fancy restaurant. And I was like, yeah, I was like, well, can I have two? Because I have a partner and serving steak for one is sad. And then they never got back to me. And I thought that was a reasonable request.
A skillet? Is that a skillet?
It wasn't the skillet, though. It was like... Okay. It was...

Chapter 4: How do childhood memories shape our holiday experiences?
like a plank of wood and in the plank of wood was the cast iron thing that you were to warm in the oven. So when you served your steak, it wasn't on a cold plate. It was something that if they sent it to me, I would have made a video and then it would have sat in my house for a year before I eventually took it to a charity shop. So probably the best thing that they didn't send it to me.
I haven't, I haven't had much. I've had, I think just this jumper. I'm sure I've had other things, books I get occasionally.
That's cool.
Um,
I mean, I get to go places, not to brag, but I did get to go to Thorpe Park for Halloween.
Oh, yeah, that's cool. Yeah. You know, I got, and I had a, I really regret, you know, when you're running in an Edinburgh show and you, you're like, I need all these previews, all these, I've only got three previews left and I've got to go. And so I chose doing a preview, which I had a nice time at, but I was offered Blur tickets. I should have gone to see Blur.

Chapter 5: What challenges do individuals with ADHD face during Christmas?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
one of the big Wembley gigs.
This is a thing as I get older. Like, don't get me wrong. I love my job and maybe I've taken too much time to not do it. But there was a time where I would cancel anything, not go to like family events, not go to like concerts because I had a gig and for like no money or very little money. And now I'm kind of at a point where I'm like, I need to go and have experiences. I'm a big girl.
Yeah, I think it was. I think if it was a club gig, I might have pulled it. But I think it was a preview. Occasionally people come. I'd be so heartbroken if someone messaged me like, oh, I was really looking forward to come and see you. I've got a babysitter and then you've gone to see Blah.

Chapter 6: What Christmas Eve rituals are shared in the conversation?
So I didn't. But if it had been a comedy club, I might have pulled it because that's just a comedy club. But yeah, I was in Dunstable doing a preview and I had a lovely time. So if you saw me at Dunstable, know that I could have been seeing Damon Albarn that night.
You're such a good man. Now, I have a question for you about how your holidays change. So you were mentioning your daughter now is now one. Last year for Christmas, she was like, you know, a little shrimp. She was a month old. So I heard that that Christmas was exhausting. Now, so your daughter, I keep trying not to say your name, your daughter's birthday is the day before mine.
And as a kid, this is how the holidays worked. It was it was Halloween. My birthday is on the 11th. So just like a couple of weeks later in June.
Chapter 7: How does modern consumerism relate to the story of The Grinch?
Then Thanksgiving, a couple of weeks after that, which I know you guys don't do here. And then a month later was Christmas. So now that my birthday is... Can we just take out her name? I did it. I knew I'd do it.
I'll mark it.
Yeah, I'm going to mark it too. Now that we know your daughter's birthday is just a month and a bit before Christmas, do you feel like the holiday season starts earlier?
Oh, I don't know. I think that beginning of November is a little bit and we don't have Thanksgiving to bridge the gap. So I think there is a bit of time in the middle. And I've had quite a busy November, been doing touring and stuff like that. It feels like it used to be my mum's birthday. So my mum's birthday is the 3rd of December. It's...
Yeah, no, I think it's a little bit too early for it to just bleed into Christmas. My wife's birthday is only for December. Oh, wow.
Okay, so you have a lot of December birthdays in your family.
Yeah, I know. I've got to, well, a lot of winter birthdays. I'm a February one as well. So it's all winter birthdays.
Yeah.
Did you have the thing when you were, as being a winter birthday growing up, did you have the thing that you never got summer, like presents for like things that you play with in summer?
