Uh next up my reported monologue. I wanna try to lay out the roadmap for you. Now that we're through the primaries, now that we're through um the uh the preliminaries. What next? What what can we look to between now and election day? So consider this uh from having talked to Republican strategists, Democrat strategists and keen observers of the of the general election, what can you expect going forward?
So let me lay it out for you. First of course the Republicans are having their convention. This is President Trump's brainchild. And uh after he announced they were gonna do a two day convention, it's in Dallas, uh the um the Republicans, uh the Democrats said, Oh, we'll do that too. And um no, they're not. Why not? Because uh it's expensive and uh it means flying a bunch of your candidates uh out of their states uh to the city. Same dynamic, the same uh downsides exist in a presidential year. When same things happen, it costs a lot of money to stage a convention, you gotta bring your candidates in. But The parties decide it's worth it. In this case, the Republicans think it worth it. Uh, you can't hide President Trump.
This will rally the base and let's see how well they execute it. Remember, for all the uh craziness and disorganization that can sometimes exist in Trump world. Their conventions have been pretty good, at least in the years President Trump won in sixteen and twenty four. Their conventions were well run. Even even Democrats and and people in the media would tell you, uh well staged. Good messaging, good social media around them.
