Chapter 1: What can we expect from the year 2025?

3.619 - 21.633

Hi, I'm Tara Schmidt, a registered dietitian and host of On Nutrition, a podcast for Mayo Clinic, where we dig into the latest nutrition trends and research to help you understand what's health and what's hype. There's a lot of wild stuff out there, so we'll be keeping it science-based, research-informed and practical.

Chapter 2: Why is cycling with a baby a concern?

45.584 - 47.805 Elizabeth

Nobody's listening, right? Hi, Andy.

0

47.845 - 48.725 Sarah

Hello.

0

49.305 - 57.946 Elizabeth

I'm so excited to talk to you for an hour. So no one's listening. Nobody. We're up at our cabin. So it's a different look and probably sound.

0

57.966 - 60.767 Sarah

Yeah, it might sound a little different. We got our portable rig, as they say.

0

Chapter 3: What are the risks of biking without helmets?

61.55 - 62.291 Elizabeth

Do they say that?

0

62.371 - 63.052 Sarah

That's what they say.

0

63.332 - 64.013 Elizabeth

Who says that?

0

64.454 - 64.854 Sarah

The people.

0

65.355 - 65.735 Elizabeth

Okay.

66.516 - 69.16 Sarah

Anyone that's in any industry where they talk about rigs.

70.582 - 71.343 Elizabeth

Is anyone listening?

71.743 - 78.592 Sarah

Yes. This comes from Lilusuma Sama on iTunes or Apple. Yep, I'm listening.

Chapter 4: How can we show empathy for those with eczema?

80.04 - 80.701 Elizabeth

Five stars.

0

80.781 - 81.742 Sarah

Sometimes that's all you need.

0

82.122 - 96.235 Elizabeth

That's so nice. I mean, I do appreciate the ones that really put some effort into it, but I love that. They took the time. They let us know. That's what I want to hear. I love it. Okay, so it's New Year's Day 2025.

0

97.276 - 100.479 Sarah

Yeah, let's hope this is a nice one.

0

101.24 - 110.959 Elizabeth

So there's tons of astrology happening this year. That seems like it's going to be a doozy.

111.979 - 113.059 Sarah

That's going to be a hard year?

113.699 - 116.72 Elizabeth

Well, there's going to be a lot going on.

Chapter 5: What does the bumper sticker 'Someone I love has eczema' signify?

117.46 - 119.0 Sarah

Doozy seems like bad.

0

119.64 - 134.143 Elizabeth

I am getting the impression it might be a tough one collectively. And I mean, given the state of things, you know, our country's so divided, Trump's taking office, all of this stuff. I think that it's going to be a doozy.

0

134.873 - 140.036 Sarah

On that note, I have one thing that I've been dying to tell you, but it's negative.

0

140.576 - 143.717 Elizabeth

Oh, what a day. Let's jump off with that.

0

143.737 - 151.822 Sarah

Well, can I get that out of the way? Yeah. Then we go into astrology. It's a doozy. But then maybe we lift it up about what we hope for the year.

152.162 - 153.042 Elizabeth

Absolutely.

153.062 - 154.443 Sarah

But let's get the negative out of the way.

154.803 - 157.164 Elizabeth

Okay. Is this negative like specifically to me?

157.304 - 158.185 Sarah

No. Oh, no.

Chapter 6: How can we destigmatize conditions like eczema?

158.425 - 158.945 Elizabeth

Okay, great.

0

158.985 - 159.785 Sarah

Not towards you at all.

0

159.906 - 160.466 Elizabeth

Okay, great.

0

160.526 - 162.527 Sarah

But it is towards some pieces of shit I saw.

0

163.569 - 164.21 Elizabeth

Oh, no.

164.41 - 169.674 Sarah

I don't think that my gears have been ground so hard before. Wow.

Chapter 7: What are the challenges parents face with young children?

170.415 - 171.055 Elizabeth

When was this?

0

171.075 - 172.836 Sarah

My rear has been chapped so hard.

0

172.856 - 174.498 Elizabeth

Yeah. Your cookie crumbled.

0

174.658 - 184.966 Sarah

This was like last week. We're on holiday break, and I was going to Sprouts. I remember it vividly to get some Chica's Chips, best tortilla chips in the game.

0

185.026 - 185.446 Tara Schmidt

Yes. Okay.

186.847 - 191.629 Sarah

I was on a busy street and there's a bike lane on that street. Great. Love bike lanes.

191.89 - 194.651 Andy

Yes. Now... Safety first.

194.811 - 201.935 Sarah

There's a type of person that likes to bike with their young children on their bike.

202.375 - 202.655 Tara Schmidt

Yeah.

Chapter 8: What positive outlooks do we have for the new year?

212.619 - 219.584 Sarah

But like they got their lights, they got everything. But like, I don't know, I feel like they're like Whole Foods type people sort of.

0

219.944 - 220.284 Elizabeth

Sure.

0

220.324 - 221.545 Sarah

Does that resonate with you or no?

0

221.685 - 225.788 Elizabeth

Well, we also have to say this is in East L.A.

0

225.808 - 226.228 Sarah

Mm-hmm.

227.518 - 254.524 Elizabeth

Because in an ideal, I truly believe this, in an ideal world, and I know that there are some cities in the world that are like this, all of us would be riding our bikes around. There would be like 1 50th of the amount of cars. The streets should be structured for bikers and pedestrians. The way our world in East LA is is very much structured for cars.

255.504 - 256.784 Sarah

Yeah. Well, all of LA.

256.804 - 268.686 Elizabeth

So it does take a certain kind of person who's like, and I admire it. You know what? I'm going to get out there on my bike and I'm going to haul my kids around. I'm going to call my shit around. That's my mode of transportation.

269.146 - 284.109 Elizabeth

And it's not usually the people who, they're of course people who can't afford to have a car and have other modes of transportation or taking the bus and biking and whatever. This is someone who probably has a Tesla in the driveway. Yeah.
