Bettine Vriesekoop is schrijver en voormalig tafeltennisser. Ze speelde ruim dertig jaar tafeltennis op wereldniveau en werd meermaals Nederlands en Europees kampioen. Na haar sportloopbaan studeerde ze Chinese talen en culturen. Ze was correspondent in Beijing voor NRC en schreef een aantal boeken, waaronder ‘Duizend dagen in China’. Al tijdens haar sportloopbaan vond ze steun en houvast in Taoïstische filosofie. In haar nieuwe boek ‘Chinese wijsheid in een balletje’ legt ze haar ervaring in relatie tot de Tao uit. Atze de Vrieze gaat met Bettine Vriesekoop in gesprek.
