The administration first announced the creation of TrumpRx when it began making deals with pharmaceutical companies in the fall. Details of the deals to lower prices aren't public, but there are now 16 agreements with companies including Pfizer, Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly. The White House says the companies agreed to offer discounts on some, but not all, drugs to consumers paying cash instead of using their health insurance. And people will be able to find those direct-to-consumer discounts at the new government website, trumprx.gov. Drug policy experts have said it's unclear how many people will benefit. The Integrated Food Security Phase classification said famine levels of malnutrition have spread to two towns in Sudan's western region of Darfur. About half of the children in one of the towns in north Darfur are acutely malnourished, the expert said. The IPC says it could not confirm a full famine due to a lack of data and access. Since the start of Sudan's civil war in 2023, the IPC has confirmed famine in a total of seven areas in the country, including Darfur, which is controlled by the paramilitary rapid support forces, or RSF, at war with Sudan's army. The US, UN and others have accused the RSF and allied Arab militias of a genocide against African ethnic groups.
