Chapter 1: What are the latest updates on the U.S.-Israeli operations against Iran?

Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Nora Rahm. U.S. Central Command today announced the first reported U.S. casualties from the joint U.S.-Israeli operation against Iran. Three service members were killed. Five others were seriously wounded. A U.S. official not authorized to speak publicly says all were serving in the U.S. Army in Kuwait.

The report could not be independently confirmed. The Earth will be between the sun and the moon, casting a shadow that covers the full moon, which will look red because of bits of sunlight filtering through the Earth's atmosphere. It will be visible from North America, Central America, and the western part of South America.
