What recent signings did the Oilers make?
Legacy Heating and Cooling. Stan Bowman at the trade deadline last year decided he was going to bring in three guys. One of them a bit younger. and a little bit more tenacious. He's going to do some great things on the Oilers' depth in the future. That is Colton Dock. And then he brought in one of the most solid third-liners in the NHL that you can bring in in Jason Dickinson. And we saw how good he was during the postseason. Even with his injury, he still managed to find ways to be big in moments where the Oilers needed him. And Connor Murphy, I mean, what can you say about the addition of him as well? He brought stability to that second pair on the blue line with Darnell Nerson. It'll be really good to see...
how that is treated moving forward. But yes, those two guys are signed and locked up for a while, both getting five-year contracts. Murphy will get $4.1 million and Dickinson will get $4 million. And if you ask me, that is a completely fair price. That's kind of what you were expecting to pay against those guys. Actually, not really. I mean, if Connor Murphy and Jason Dickinson hit the market, my best bet would be that they're getting at least $5 million. So getting those guys at under that is huge. And, I mean, we spoke about it so much this year about how the depth needs to get more involved and they need to play better in the defensive zone of the puck. Jason Dickinson is a very, very good penalty killer, and he's good five-on-five defensively.
There's your help on the depth, getting those guys started a little bit. And, of course, he's a veteran in the NHL as well, so the younger guys in the depth are going to want to, you know,
