Rich was at the forefront of 90's youth culture progressing from Fashion Editor to eventually associate editor of multiple notorious "Lad's magazines" including FHM, Front, and Nuts. With the lifestyle came a lot of drinking and recreational drug use which was seen as the norm within the industry.
