After a long break we are finally back with a new season of One For The Road, Join me to kick off this latest season with Simon Maguire.Simon’s journey with alcohol started on the day of his mother’s passing as a 15-year-old boy. Drawn to alcohol, food and later codeine Simon built up a series of addictive habits as a coping mechanism in all areas of his life. By the time he had reached 39 he weighed 22 stone on the scales and had a growing list of health problems. Struck by a passing comment from a colleague Simon knew he had to make a change for the sake of his family and his self-worth. Simon’s journey from this day to 2 years later saw him lose 9 stone, kick the addictions, and complete multiple Ironman events for charity. Recognising he was inspiring those around him, Simon has gone on to be a keynote speaker and aspiring author.
