There's been difficulties between between Russell and Gregor Townsend going back a little while. Catastrophic news for Scotland. I worked with Gregor since twenty twelve, he was a Glasgow coach then, so fourteen years you're obviously gonna have a one to however however many bust ups it is. I think the f with the way that Finn has dealt with that is to his credit. He doesn't bear grudges, it's just it's been that's gone, move on to the next one. I'm Finn Russell and this is in our drive.

And welcome to Monday's Football Daily. I'm Phil Egan. Coming up today, Killian Phillips is called up to the Ireland squad for the injured Jamie McGrath and Harvey Vale. The pressure increases on Michael Carrick after Manchester United failed to win again. And Andoni Iriola makes a happy return to Bournemouth with his Liverpool side. But first Ireland boss Hamer Halgramson has called up St. Mirror and midfielder Killian Phillips to a squad for the upcoming window of four nations. League games. Hibbs midfielder Jamie McGrath and QP horse Harvey Vail have both been ruled out due to injuries they sustained on club duty over the weekend. Phillips will link up with the squad in Dublin today before they leave for Pistina ahead of Thursday's opening match against Kosovo.
The boys in green will then travel to Hungary to face Israel. Then they have a home game against Austria at the Aviva, and the window finishes with a second game against Israel, which will be played in Serbia. Meanwhile, the FAI have confirmed that Brian Sorensen will join Carla Ward's coaching team as an assistant for the upcoming World Cup playoffs. The former Everton women's boss will link up with the squad for the two-legged round one fixture against Kazakhstan in October. If Ireland come through that, they'd play either Belgium or Poland in November and December for a place at next summer's World Cup. Sorensen joined Everton in twenty twenty two and led them to their best ever WSL finish. The Dane has been working as a technical advisor to the Aston Villa women's team.
Manchester United started the game away to Fulham has been heavily criticised by former captain Gary Neville. He described it as the worst fifteen minutes he's ever seen from a United team. United came back to draw one all thanks to a late goal from Mateus Cunha, which moved them onto five points and into twelfth place in the Premier League.
It's a ball into the box, oh you know it scored! It's Mateus Kuna in the eighty-ninth minutes! Oh my word, we were not expecting that. And it's been a big mess up at the back here as Mateus Cunha goes over to celebrate in front of the away supporters.
United boss Michael Carrick remains defiant though.
I understand the frustration, of course I do, you know, 'cause we wanted to be better and we wanted to do other things. Deflation I think is certainly not what we have within the club and within the group when the players didn't have that on the pitch today and that's what'll carry us through the season without doubt.
Gary Neville says he was stunned by the performance.
Absolutely mannequins. I've never seen a Manchester United team for 15 minutes walk around out of possession as much as that. Fulham had 46 passes in the first couple of minutes of the game to get a chance. 46 passes Fulham against Manchester United.
Finney Perth joined Stephen Doyle in commentary for the game at Craven Cottage yesterday. He said that Marcus Rashford will bear the brunt of the criticism, despite Luke Shaw playing poorly behind a
On to United then and look there's there's so much you could say about that performance today, um and all mainly in the negative column.
