Yeah, that was important for us coming over. We knew the task ahead. We knew we'd have to defend for our lives tonight. We were playing a top-class opposition. It wasn't the best start, giving away a penalty so early in the game. We'd be disappointed with the second goal. We'd just switch off. But our defensive display was bodies on the line. We knew we had to hurt tonight. But I felt we'd be dangerous on transitions and we would get one or two chances. You could see the impact the subs made in the second half. I felt Dan Kelly had a goal in him tonight. You could see he was a threat in the first half. It was their final ball. Couldn't release him. But he follows in brilliantly from Ali Koot's effort and definitely keeps us in the tie.

You know, the speed that they played at, they put you under pressure, the combination on the box, but we knew what was coming. We had to defend for our lives. You go 2-0 down early on, it was important to get in at half time. There's a lot of good stuff in terms of our defensive work rate. We were at this point with the two goals. The improvement in the second half was to try and be better on the ball. Our reset, obviously we knew Dan was that threat on the break, but we needed to play backwards to play forwards and open up. We were probably a little bit nervous in that first 20, but you saw there was a spell after about half an hour.
two, three minutes where we started getting on the ball and Jack and Kerr showed their quality. So that was the message second half. You concede too early again, but the response from the players and Eddie Beach, for me, was world class tonight. Absolutely world class. Some of the saves he made and the penalty save gives us life, gives us energy, the subs that come in. And yeah, the tie is definitely life.

His first game was in Europe against Caldwell at home, the 5-2 win. and there's more to come from him I think for us as a team we knew the calibre we're playing against tonight we had a game plan we're going to be defending but going forward I want my team to be on the front foot and building up and he's got really good distribution and that will come and that's exciting for me because yes he's making big saves he looked at real presence tonight but there's more to come in terms of his distribution as well

Tanya Kelly played a pretty tankless role up until the goal at the end. When Freitas comes on and it kind of changes to the two of them up there together, just on dance performance and then what maybe Freitas gave you as well in those last 20 minutes, how impressed were you? Yeah, really impressed.
The subs made a big impact. Roddy's hold-up play, putting off the shoulder, relieving pressure. And then Ali came in at the end, he made a real big impact as well. He's such a technical player and He's probably been disappointed because he's been starting for me since I came in, but we're away from home.
