Yeah, it is a massive week here on the green scene because um we're not coming with you for just one pod. We're gonna be doing two podcasts uh this week. So uh we'll have obviously a look ahead to what's happening on Thursday, um, over the next hour or so. And then obviously after Thursday when Hamer Halkamson announces his squad, we'll have immediate reaction to the names that made it. But uh first things first, Troy Parrot. Last night, Real Betis was on the bench for ninety minutes, an unused substitute as they beat Vreal two one at La Ceramica. Um so we can't get on the old tripart algorithm this week because there was no tripartite. But we'll try, but we'll try. Yeah. So um here's hoping that something else might live in the same way as it did.
Uh Matthew, you watched um a portion.
A portion of this game. I had real Yeah, I had unbelievable intentions of watching all of it. It was my game of choice. It was going to be the one on the telly, I was gonna stick Newcastle and Leeds, you know, on the on the laptop and then stick some of the League of Ireland on the phone or something like that. Maybe rotate between the two depending on what way the games are going. Yeah, listen. I've got loads going on. I've got loads going on in my life, lads. Uh but no joking. The um It was disappointing to see he wasn't starting, so I said, Right, I'll stick something else on the telly I'll I'll relegate this to a smaller screen and then it got to an hour in and I said, Right Leads are doing a a number here on Newcastle, I'll stick I'll stick Real Bedison.
So after an hour I stuck him on. Watch the last half an hour, was anticipating his introduction at some point. Obviously never came. But my takeaway from watching the last half an hour at least of that game was that Triparrot could have easily scored a hat trick. I mean, the amount of guilt edged opportunities that Real Bedez had. Some players obviously that wouldn't would have been picking up these positions that Triparrot wouldn't have found himself in. How Hector Bayer ended up um in on goal towards the end, I don't know, missed a a pretty uh a pretty good opportunity uh in a one on one himself. Pablo Fernales took a touch like a trampoline when he had the ball and the edge of the of uh of the penalty spot to to tap at home, didn't manage to get that done.
Cucho Hernandez, of course, who was Real Betis's other striker, uh, had a couple of chances himself towards the end. And Look. If Parrot was there, he might have put them away, he might not have done. But look, listen, they've got a lot of fixtures coming up and they're playing again on Thursday, they're playing again at the weekend. So uh no panic stations, no alarm bells, but it would have been good to see him get a run because I think even with ten minutes he might have been able to get himself on the end of one of those chances.
Yeah. Um Manuel Pellegrini spoke in his pre match about that. He was saying as a bit of a joke that Bettis have to play three games in in six days. So they played obviously Monday night and then they play on Thursday night against someone who's just gone out of my head. Gitafe at home, sorry. And then on s and on Sunday they play Deportivo at Corona as well.
