Don't get me wrong, but we forgot about Vladdy Jr. 's Grand Slam from the other night already. That's already kind of in the past.
Well, that was different. That's just the nature of sports.
It's different. But that was different circumstances. They were facing elimination and looked dead, and that could have brought them back to life. That's what I'm saying. If they win this series, that moment is the moment. What a game. Yeah, it was a lot of fun. More baseball. I want to see more of these two teams play. I like watching players play in New York, too. Yes, Hank.
I said this and you kind of got mad at me before the show, but I was watching this. And again, I would much rather the Cubs or the Phillies win. I didn't get mad at you. As this was unfolding, I was like, this is bad for the Cubs or Phillies. Because if the Yankees had got swept... It's in MLB needs to do something territory. Someone's got to extend the series.
The Yankees being the one to do it is not great. I wish we were recording because I did not get mad at you. We hopped onto the Zoom, and the very first thing you said was, that's bad for the Cubs and Phillies. I was just like, all right.
I agree. I agree with you. That's good for the Cubs and Phillies.
Yeah. Well, I'm actually not making a ā I think the Cubs and Phillies have nothing to do with the Yankees and Blue Jays.

Okay, here he is, our good friend, Tom Fornelli. All right, we now welcome on a very, very, very special guest. It is Tom Fornelli talking college football. We are in week seven. It has been an awesome football season so far. A lot of teams that we thought were going to be good are not good. A lot of teams we didn't think were going to be good are good.
Let's start, Tom, because I want to do a little look back on week six, but also look forward to week seven. But let's start with the biggest story. Penn State, James Franklin. Is there any chance they buy out Ben or James Franklin and move on from him? I mean, I can't say there's not any chance.
I don't know if I'd consider it likely, but you see like this week after the UCLA lost, like there are columnists from every single outlet. It feels like writing the, is it time for James Franklin and Penn state to go opposite directions, you know, to finally part ways. So it's the first time you've kind of seen that, which is typically a sign that it might be coming.
But I don't know because I think it's a dangerous proposition because there's no excuse for what happened last week at UCLA. Losing in double overtime to Oregon, fine. We all typically thought that was going to happen. That's been Penn State's problem all along. But these games against UCLA are just the games that Penn State has always won under James Franklin.
So it's going to lead to this kind of discussion, but it's also a situation where Like, I don't know what your goal would be if you fire James Franklin. Like, who are you going to replace him with who can realistically do a better job than James Franklin has been doing?
Yeah, because it reminds me kind of like a situation that we saw, you know, like when Nebraska fired Bo Pelini, like they thought that they could do better. And we know how that's gone for them since they have not done better. And you look at Penn State as a program. Like, it's one of the best programs in the country. It has been for a long time.
But even with that being said, they've won two national titles in their history. Like, the last one was over 40 years ago in 1986 or just under 40 years ago. If you want to count 1994, it was over 30 years ago. So it's not like this was a program that was winning national titles constantly or competing for them. Like, Joe Paterno's got the only ones to the program's name. And...
Even Joe Paterno, it took him 16 years before he finally won his first national title, which is not to say I think Penn State just needs to give James Franklin five more years and he'll break through. But I don't really put this on him as much as I put it on everybody hyping this team up a little too much because of everything that they had coming back. And we were just looking around. It's like.
There are so many questions at all these other programs. Penn State's got all these dudes coming back. Maybe this is the year. And I mentioned it when I was on before the season started. Yeah, they did have a lot coming back, but they also did not have their best player on offense and their best player on defense. And the guys who did come back from last year didn't really win a national title.
