I'm your host, Jenna Castrak-Kasbon, and today I'm thrilled to introduce you to Ann Tarwater, a speech language pathologist and the founder of iShine Pediatric Therapy Clinic in Burning, Texas. Anne's journey into private practice is nothing short of inspiring. She began her career in public relations and discovered the field of speech language pathology through volunteering, and she eventually worked in the public school system for seven years before taking the leap into private practice. Anne opened iShine Pediatric Therapy Clinic in June of 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic.
And the reason why she started her private private practice was because she didn't want children and families having to drive all the way to San Antonio for services. She wanted them to be seen in their community. Since then, she's created a warm and welcoming multidisciplinary clinic, which is housed in an old house, which I absolutely love, where she serves young children and their families. And now she's taking things a step further by launching a preschool that is specifically for kids with disabilities. This school will integrate therapy services right into the school day, making life easier for families. and ensuring that kids get the support that they need in a setting that was literally built for them.
Anne is a single mom with ADHD who believes that failure is not an option. Her mindset, her grit, and her passion are just incredible. And I know that her story will stick with you.
