Why is now the best time to start a private practice for SLPs and OTs?

Unknown 0:00
Starting a private practice isn't what it used to be. Today's clinicians are starting private practices much quicker, easier, and cheaper than before. And they aren't guessing their way through it or getting stuck in analysis paralysis, they're following a tried and true roadmap in order to save time, money, and frustration. There is no reason to reinvent the wheel or struggle to figure out how to start a private practice on your own. We've helped thousands of SLPs and OTs through this process and now we want to help you too. For a limited time, I'm offering a free copy of our private practice roadmap, specifically for SLPs and OTs who are curious about private practice and want to see what the journey looks like.

to the episode. Take a moment and think about your morning today. Did you hit the snooze button a few extra times, dreading another overwhelming day? Did you sit in your car just a little longer, taking those few extra minutes to breathe before walking into work? If this is you, I see you. And I know that this is not how you dream that your career would be in graduate school. So today, what I want to talk about is how to get you from where you are right now, overwhelmed, undervalued, and missing out on life, to where you want to be. And I mean really be, making the difference that you know you can make, earning what you deserve, and actually having time for your life outside. of work. Today's episode is all about how to go from burned out to having more balance and how private practice will change everything for you.

Okay, so today we're gonna talk about how to go from totally burned out, which is exactly how I was early in my career, to having more work-life balance through private practice. But before we talk about where I want to take you, let's be honest about where you might be right now. Drowning in paperwork, having a crazy huge caseload. Lunch break? What's a lunch break? Missing out on bedtimes and soccer games. times and working harder than ever, but somehow making less difference than you know that you can. And the worst part? You're starting to wonder if it's just how it is. If this is what being an SLP or an OT is like. But I'm here to tell you, it's not. This is not how it has to be. There's another way.
Jena Castro-Casbon 3:28
Let me share with you what I call Jenna's favorite F-words. And remember, this is a clean show, so you don't have to change the channel if you're listening to this with your kids. But let's talk about Jenna's favorite F-words of private practice and what they can mean for your life. These four F-words are exactly why clinicians just like you are choosing private practice.

What are Jenna’s four “F‑words” and how do they transform a clinician’s life?

Jena Castro-Casbon 3:49
The first one is freedom. Imagine walking into your workspace. Knowing that every decision is yours. No more, sorry, that's against the policy, or we don't have time for that approach, or I just added a few more clients to your caseload. Instead, you decide how to treat your clients, what approaches to use, how much time each client needs, and how many clients will be on your caseload. Private practice is about practicing therapy the way that you know it's not. Should be practiced for yourself and for your clients, and about finally having the freedom to help people in the way that you know works best.
