What is the purpose of the Private Practice Success Stories podcast and how can listeners get a free practice roadmap?
Starting a private practice isn't what it used to be. Today's clinicians are starting private practices much quicker, easier, and cheaper than before. And they aren't guessing their way through it or getting stuck in analysis paralysis, they're following a tried-and-trude roadmap in order to save time, money, and frustration. There is no reason to reinvent the wheel or struggle to figure out how to start a private practice on your own. We've helped thousands of SLPs and OTs through this process and now we want to help you too. For a limited time, I'm offering a free copy of our private practice roadmap, specifically for SLPs and OTs who are curious about private practice and want to see what the journey looks like.

Alex Winter is a speech language pathologist with a private practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, called the Winter Wellness Group. She decided to start her private practice while working in home health. Alex loved the work that she was doing in her community, but she wanted more freedom to do things on her own terms and to better support her patients. I got to know Alex during her time in the Start Your Private Practice program, and it has been so incredible to watch her open her own private practice and grow into a successful business owner. In this episode, she talks about the obstacles that she faced while working in corporate healthcare and how having her own private practice has led her to more freedom and fulfillment.
Alex also discusses the importance of non-clinical skills when it comes to multiple streams of income and how she offers public speaking engagements, mentorship, and caregiver coaching. If you're thinking about transitioning from home health into the world of private practice and want to learn more, this is a must-listen episode, so stay tuned. I'm Jenna Kastro-Kazvan, CEO of the Independent Clinician and founder of Private Practice School. First, I started my own private practice. And then, over the past 15 years, I've worked with over 10,000 SLPs and OTs to start and grow their successful private practices so they can have more freedom, flexibility, fulfillment, and finances. I created the Private Practice Success Stories podcast.
to share what's possible for you, your family, your clients, and your community when you choose private practice. We'll share everything from small private practice side hustles to flexible lifestyle private practices to traditional brick and mortar practices, and everything in between. You'll meet regular clinicians, just like you, who followed our steps and are now living their private practice dreams. If they can do it, you can do it too. So let's get started. I am so excited to have you on. Some of you may know I've known Alex, we've known each other for what, like two years now? Yeah, it's it's been a while, definitely at least two years for sure. At least two years. Yeah. So the one of the things that is so cool is I've been able to watch you from like just starting your private practice and kind of just thinking about it to a pretty big uh change that's coming up in your life, which
which I'll let you share it here in just a second. But can you tell our listeners and and viewers who maybe didn't get to hear you on the podcast a while back a little bit about yourself?
Yes, hello everyone. My name is Alex. I am a speech language pathologist, medical speech pathologist, and home health practitioner. And trajectory practice owner. I am based out of Philly. And I started my practice two years ago, kind of in a very hectic time, coming right off of COVID, in the pandemic, being denied all of my summer PTO. And I remember I was on my way to a wedding, seeing Jenna's emails in my inbox and being like, you know what? I think. This is the time to do it. And uh not when I started my practice, but I was also in the thick of planning a wedding. Um, Vanessa was, you know, also helping caregive for my father.
