So it just becomes of premium importance that these guys succeed when they get their turns. In that Saturday game, that's the Carson Kelly day, his home run. He could be a candidate for MVP of the series, but he comes forward to win. Jamison Tyone goes six innings, allowed one run on five hits, struck out four, did walk three, got up two. Craig got him to 100 pitches. That's what he needed. He needed six innings. He needed him to max out, and he did. And Tyone early in the game, you get nervous about him early, gives up a couple of hits in the first.

In back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday, first he gets the save, his first of the season. Then he gets the win on Sunday, pitching out of a situation which is designed for runs to score. When you start with a runner on second and nobody out, it's designed for runs to score.
The automatic runner, the Manfred man, if you will, he gets stranded on third base because Thielbar is able to fight his way through it. You wondered on Friday, right after the show, well, Daniel Palencia, who's going to fill the role? This man came in and did the job of Daniel Palencia and looked good doing it. And I think that's what makes him the MVP of a series in which you get your first sweep of the season.
Honorable mention. Mentioned really quickly before we go to the next question, we've got to mention Nico Horner, another terrific series. Friday, the two were on Homer. He hit the game-winning sack fly in the 10th off of Craigers, Craig Kimbrell. So that was pretty good. Michael Conforto, got to give it up to this guy. He's had a couple of big hits this year. I don't know if Conforto was with the Cubs at the end of the season. I have no idea. But he did have that game-tying double in the ninth inning. And then we mentioned it earlier, Craig Council making all the right moves and managing his ass off lately because he has to. Number two. The Cubs conversation continues this afternoon when president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer joins Spiegel and Holmes at 3 p.m.
