I have to say I the the surprise meter was at a seven for me. I was surprised, but I I should not have been surprised. Maybe I should have followed my gut. Maybe I should have been a little bit more assertive with the things that I was hearing and that other people were hearing. I wasn't getting special information. Like Press Taylor talking about Press Taylor tells some truth. Yeah, he told the truth. Like we could go back to it. He was asked about Caleb Williams essentially paraphrasing the reporter question. It was, are we at the point right now where where Caleb Williams is good and you don't really need to see him out there in these preseason games? And Press Taylor pushed back pretty forcefully on that, saying, Oh no, I mean, like, don't rule out the possibilities, and I'm now paraphrasing him.
But when it got to the day, and just listening to the reports from the joint practice and hearing from you know. know Chris Emma and people, it didn't sound like the vibe was Caleb is going to play. I was pleasantly surprised as I had my earbuds in and I was walking down State Street to Roosevelt to the Jewels and I was listening to our guy Judson Richards on the score and then the news oh it's possible that Caleb Williams could be starting and I got disproportionately excited as if it was a regular season game. And the injured quarterback was returning, and I bought myself a rotisserie chicken and some heat lamp meatloaf, and I had a great day watching the Bears.
