No, this has been nice to talk with friends and people who knew him. I was talking to some people on the phone as I was returning some calls and stuff, and it was just nice to talk to friends about him and either share a laugh. I don't know. uh here's a direction jason benetti and i connected the other day uh yesterday and we were chat or us actually the day it happened on sunday because he called me when he found out found the new found out the news because he was in chicago he was doing the cubs game And we shared a laugh. We were silent on the phone for a second. And obviously, anybody who knows JB, same deal. You love him because he had some really, you know, just the right words at the right moment.
And we were both just like, I'm so sorry. You know, he was both of our friends. He was both of our partners. You know, JB, obviously, a longtime fill-in for the Bulls, too. And we were kind of silent for a second. And in perfect Benetti fashion, he goes... Do you remember when you guys did that game in the studio, the Sox game in the studio? And I just started laughing because Stacey and I did a White Sox game from studio. when they played the Royals, and I knew exactly what he was talking about.
There was like a two-hour or something rain, a three-hour rain delay, and Stacey had ordered, we were doing this at the NBC Tower, and Stacey ordered P.F. Chang's.
for dinner like on doordash or uber eats or something and the guy couldn't get nbc tower is is like impenetrable it's like fort knox and he the guy couldn't find the entrance and stacy had ordered like 80 bucks worth of chinese food and the guy couldn't find the entrance so he ordered it again
And we never got the food during the rain delay. And then we had to call a not very fun Sox Royals game from the studio. And he never got his $175.

Like that, that's another, like most people haven't heard that story. Some people have, but like there's for the next, I don't know, year for sure. And probably forever, somebody somewhere in some bar or restaurant will have a story on Stacy. And it will range from, he took a photo with me to, he held my kid on his shoulders to, uh, we tweeted at him and he brought us down to the floor after the game and let us take photos at center court, which I never ever thought my feet would ever touch the United Center floor. He was having dinner at this spot and he was nice enough to say what's up and tell me about the playoffs. It's going to range from all through that. Somebody somewhere in this city will have a story on him.
And I always thought Harry Carey and you know like johnny you know to you know red uh norm van lear i kind of always just thought that they were like men about town and they could walk in anywhere and like they didn't have to pay for a dinner or drink or whatever like that that's kind of how stacy was and i never thought of him that way because he was just our buddy he was our friend he was our colleague we don't think of our friends necessarily in that manner but that's what he was to a lot of people and
